It was designated an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Japan in 1980

The Hirosaki Neputa Festival is a summer festival held annually in Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture, from August 1st to August 7th

The fan-shaped floats, each with a kagami-e (mirror painting) of a brave warrior on the front and a melancholy omikuri-e (farewell painting) on ​​the back, are paraded through the city accompanied by shouts of "Yayado."
