Asteroid MiyaginoMiyagi, was discovered on November 8, 1988 , by Masahiro Koishikawa an astronomer from Prefecture, at the Aiko Observatory of the Sendai Astronomical Observatory

It was named in February 1992 after Miyagino Ward in Sendai City. Incidentally, at that time, another asteroid discovered by the same person on October 13, 1988, was also named ,TaihakuSendai after a ward in City
