This time it's a quick gourmet trip!
We will tell you about a two-day, one-night trip full of delicious food using an express bus to Fukushima City, which is very close to Sendai!
head to the Miyako Sendai Expressway Bus Center at the west exit of JR Sendai Station
From Miyako Sendai Expressway Bus Center to Fukushima!
The bus terminal for the Fukushima-bound express bus is the Miyako Sendai Expressway Bus Center at the west exit of Sendai Station. It is located on the first floor of the Tokyo Tatemono Sendai Building, across from AER

On the way there, board the bus at the stop opposite the bus center, and on the way back, get off at the stop on the opposite side of the road, on the Azure Sendai building side
First, go to the ticket counter. A two-ticket round-trip ticket is a bit cheaper!

The regular fare for the highway bus to Fukushima is 1,300 yen one way. However, if you buy two round-trip tickets, it's 2,200 yen. That's a savings of 400 yen! It's the norm to go and come back... Don't hesitate and buy two round-trip tickets for 2,200 yen!

And what's more, this ticket is valid for two years! I don't know why, but I feel a bit relieved when the validity period is long
As I sat in the waiting room, an announcement came over my head: "If you are boarding the train to Fukushima at XX, please line up at number 40."
The bus stop for Fukushima is number 40. The journey takes about 1 hour 15 to 20 minutes. It's close!

The bus only stops at every station and there are no breaks along the way. You pay the fare when you get off the bus; tear off a ticket and put it in the fare box

Arrived at the east exit of Fukushima Station!
The bus we took from Sendai Station arrived at the Fukushima Station East Exit bus pool in no time. It's really close!

As I got off the bus and strolled around the station, I was greeted by Momorin, the Fukushima City tourism mascot! The Momorin at the east exit was apparently installed in 2022!
The Momorin at the west exit, which will be introduced later, was apparently installed in 2019, so the Momorin at the east exit is her junior

The first meal on our mini gourmet trip! We went to Marushin Ramen Ekimae Branch!
Marushin Ramen Ekimae Branch, which we had listed in advance ! It's about a 3-5 minute walk from Fukushima Station.

Their specialty the "Double Char Siu Noodles" topped with tons of char siu, but this time I ordered the "Shoyu Ramen."
The noodles are flat, thick and curly. This is it! This is what I wanted to eat!
The soup has two layers ; initially it is salt-based and light, but as you continue to eat it the soy sauce flavor emerges, allowing you to enjoy two different flavors in one bowl.

There is a mild spicy and garlic flavor on the table to change the flavor. The ramen is delicious as it is, but by combining these two, you can make it even more to your liking! It's very satisfying!

After filling our stomachs, we took a leisurely stroll around the area before checking into the hotel
I passed by a 7-Eleven and "Momo au Lait" ! It's not too sweet and easy to drink! So delicious!

A popular restaurant where reservations are required! Hormone Teppanyaki and Gyoza Restaurant "Torimasa"
This trip was meant to be a relaxed, unpacked gourmet trip! So I relaxed at the hotel and waited for the sun to go down
Before we knew it, it was evening! We headed to the restaurant we had reserved in advance!

Bunka-dori, Fukushima's drinking street . It was my first time in Fukushima at night, but the atmosphere was amazing! There were so many shops that you'll want to get lost in!
And if you turn down an alley from the main street of Bunka-dori and walk a little further..

Torimasa is a restaurant that mainly serves horumon teppanyaki and gyoza . Lol
It is no exaggeration to say that I decided to go to Fukushima because I wanted to come here

The basic style is a course meal, with horumon teppanyaki, several a la carte dishes, and gyoza served at different times
The setlist for the day was as follows:
Set contents: 2,000 yen per person
- cold tofu
- edamame
- Pickles
- Hormone Teppanyaki
- chinese dumpling
If the above items are not enough, you can order additional items individually
The gyoza dumplings come out at the perfect time! I'm so satisfied!

It's reasonably priced and delicious! However, it's a very popular restaurant, so you'll need to make a reservation if you plan to visit!

We had another fun night and headed to the second day
On the second day, we headed from Fukushima Station to Iizaka Onsen, and then headed home
It takes 23 minutes one way from Fukushima Station to Iizaka Onsen on the Fukushima Transportation local train "Iizaka Line (Iiden)." It's also about 20 to 25 minutes by car, so it's also attractive for being able to drop in on a whim
The Iizaka Onsen edition is summarized in a separate article
After spending the day enjoying Iizaka Onsen, we returned to Fukushima, and since we still had some time before our return bus, we decided to take a little stroll around the west exit of Fukushima Station

Since Halloween is coming up, Momorin was decorated for Halloween♪ There is a small difference between the West Exit Momorin and the East Exit Momorin, but did you notice?
The answer is in the summary at the end of this article!
Our final meal was at the conveyor belt sushi restaurant Umakatei Fukushima Station Pivot branch inside Fukushima Station
Before heading back to Sendai, head to the conveyor belt sushi restaurant on the first floor of Fukushima Station!

I received a lot of things, but this is the only photo I have..
This conveyor belt sushi restaurant is popular with both locals and tourists! I was very satisfied with this local conveyor belt sushi restaurant

From Fukushima Station to Sendai Station
We had a great time, so it's time to head home
Before boarding the bus to Sendai, I stopped by a nearby 7-Eleven and got some "Aji Gohan" (flavored rice) that's only available in Fukushima Prefecture!

In Fukushima Prefecture, mixed rice and cooked rice are called Aji Gohan
As it was a large rice ball, it was voluminous and had a great sweet flavor!
Take the bus to Sendai Station from bus stop number 10 at the east exit of Fukushima Station, the same place you got off when coming from Sendai Station to Fukushima Station!

The bus ride to Sendai... before you know it, you've arrived while dozing off!
There are some buses that have different travel times for the round trip, but this bus takes about 1 hour 15 to 20 minutes on the way back, the same amount of time as the trip there

You will arrive across the road from the Miyagi Kotsu Expressway Bus Center
summary
Fukushima City is just under an hour away from Sendai City and can be reached with transportation costs of just over 1,000 yen, making it the perfect destination for a short trip for people living in Sendai!
I feel like it would be quite easy to change things up and go bar-hopping on Bunka-dori instead of Kokubuncho
By the way, the difference between Momorin at the east and west exits of Fukushima Station is that the peach and apple she is holding are reversed !
