The area around Izumichuo Station, the terminus of the Namboku Subway Line from Sendai Station, is about 20 minutes away and is known as the "Izumichuo Subcenter" of Sendai City, with many office buildings and commercial facilities
Below the pedestrian deck that connects them is a bus terminal that connects the northern part of the prefecture, and it is always bustling due to its convenience as a hub terminal for the northern part of Miyagi Prefecture
Additionally, near the station are cultural facilities such as Izumi Ward Office and Sendai Bank Hall Izumity 21, as well as Yurtec Stadium Sendai, home of J-League team Vegalta Sendai, so there is a constant flow of people
What is the definition of "senbero"?

Originally, the term referred to a bar where you could get completely drunk for 1,000 yen, but now it has a stronger meaning of a bar where you can have some snacks and two or three drinks for 1,000 yen
In this article, we have defined the criteria for certifying a bar as a "senbero" bar as follows:
- You can order two drinks (any type and amount) and one snack in addition to the appetizer for under 1,000 yen
- There are set prices of less than 1,000 yen, such as "Senbero Set"
- Family restaurants where you can enjoy "senbero" (cheap drinking) are excluded from the scope of this rule
Please note that we also introduce sets under 1,500 yen as "high-end senbero," but we hope you will forgive us for this
Unless otherwise specified, prices in the article include tax and are current as of the end of September 2023

Great Demon King Terrace

This bright and clean restaurant faces the pedestrian deck at Izumi-Chuo Station andserves delicious yakitori and wine.
The shop has counter seats as well as bench seat table seats, giving it an atmosphere more like a family restaurant than a "senbero bar," making it a safe place for groups of women or those with children to come in

"Sendai Yakitori," large skewers seasoned with soy sauce, miso, and salt from Miyagi Prefecture and grilled over binchotan charcoal.isChicken thigh skewers and chicken and green onion skewers are 231 yen, while the shop's recommended "Daimaou Tsukune" is 319 yen.

While the prices are a bit on the higher side for a "cheap drinking bar," this place actually offers a great deal: yakitori is half price from 3 PM to 6 PM on weekdays.

summary
The area around Izumichuo Station is a bustling town comparable to the west and east exits of Sendai Station, and while it is a busy commuter town with many fashionable, down-to-earth restaurants, there are also an increasing number of places where you can enjoy "senbero" (cheap drinking)
Although the area is a little off the beaten path, it's definitely worth a visit to enjoy a different kind of "senbero" experience than you'll find in front of Sendai Station or in Kokubuncho
