About 200m into the regular trail, the trail splits into two. The right-hand trail is the optional "Exploration Trail," which requires an additional 300 yen admission fee

The exploration course is , about 120 meters long and takes about 10 minutes to complete , but it has a stronger adventurous element than the regular course, as you will have to duck down in narrow places and cross log ladders and stepping stones, so it is essential to bring comfortable clothing and shoes.The course rejoins the regular course at Takine Palace, one of the highlights of Abukuma Cave.
