Chaya on the mountain pass

As the name suggests, Toge no Chaya is an old-fashioned shop located on the way over the mountain pass along Route 286, which connects Yamagata and Miyagi prefectures. The store's main selling points are mochi and ramen, but a hidden favorite is the shaved ice.

There are three types: ``Strawberry Milk,'' ``Mixed Berry Milk,'' and ``Matcha,'' all of which are topped with plenty of homemade syrup. It has a lot of fruit pulp in it, so it's so delicious that you won't get tired of eating it till the end.
