If the Japan Meteorological Agency announces that the 24-hour snowfall in Hijiori exceeds 40cm, you can take advantage of the "Heavy Snow Discount." If the snow depth exceeds 446cm by 3 PM two days before your planned stay, you'll receive a 10,000 yen discount, plus a 500 yen shopping voucher for the hot spring town, making it quite a bargain.
