Goshiki Onsen


Goshiki Onsen is said to have been discovered by Kozumi Yaku, the founder of Shugendo, and developed as a hot spring in the 15th century by Kanetsugu Naoe, a senior vassal of the Uesugi family. Shintakayu Onsen


The most popular of the eight Yonezawa hot springs is Shintakayu Onsen, located in the mountains of the Nishi-Azuma Mountain Range. It was known as a secret hot spring from the time it opened in 1894 until it was opened in 1902.
Hot springs containing sulfur and sulfuric acid are said to be effective against atopic dermatitis, other skin diseases, bruises, and gastrointestinal diseases.

Shintakayu Onsen Ryokan “Azumaya Ryokan”


Azuma-ya Ryokan, the only inn in Shintakayu Onsen, is a solitary inn surrounded by the great nature of the Nishi-Azuma Mountain Range.
