A mocktail is a neologism originating in the UK, combining "mock" (meaning to imitate or mimic) and "cocktail."

While made using the same techniques as cocktails, mocktails contain no alcohol, making them safe for drivers, those at work, and even children.

Let's head to LiFE, a mocktail specialty store!

Mocktails, which originated in London, are now a popular non-alcoholic cocktail found in bars all over the world.
Having heard that these trendy mocktails have finally arrived in Tohoku, I immediately went to check out the rumored bar!

LiFE is located on Nanokamachi Street, the largest shopping and entertainment district in Yamagata City.
It's about a 17-minute walk from JR Yamagata Station, or if you're using public transportation, take the Yamagata City Loop Bus "Benichan Bus" (Nishi Kururin Kamimachi first route) and it's a 1-minute walk from the "Honmachi" bus stop.

The shop is on the second floor of the "archs senzoku-ya" building, next to Hachimonjiya.

A calm cafe-style interior

Before entering the shop, I had imagined a dimly lit, bar-like place, but the interior was surprisingly a natural, cafe-like atmosphere.
The decor was unified with wooden furniture and dried flowers, creating a warm and relaxing ambiance.

The interior of the shop is spacious and has an open feel.
It seems like anyone, regardless of age or gender, could relax and feel comfortable here.

I ordered the most popular "Bunshokan Fizz"

The drink I ordered this time was the "Bunshokan Fizz," which could be considered the
signature drink of the bar. It's a bartender's recommended drink named after Bunshokan, one of Yamagata City's top tourist attractions.

The moment I put it in my mouth, I was surprised by the gorgeous, rich flavor that spread all at once!

The secret to the elegant fragrance, befitting the name Bunshokan, lies in edible roses from Yamagata Prefecture.
Rosemary, gently placed on top of ice, adds a refreshing touch.

This cocktail uses raspberries from Yamagata Prefecture, giving it a sweet and sour, yet gentle taste

The view during the day is beautiful, but you'll want to spend some time relaxing and watching the lights at night. It's also perfect for a date

There are always 20 to 30 different mocktails on the menu!

At LiFE, you can enjoy approximately 20 to 30 different mocktails at any given time. Since the menu changes seasonally, they have around 70 different recipes throughout the year!

Karin Honey Mosco

A craft Moscow Mule made with homemade quince ginger syrup. The grated ginger used as a finishing touch is the key to the flavor.

Persimmon Shrub Martini

This is a persimmon mocktail from our autumn menu. It contains shrub and orange, which pair well with persimmon, offering a refined flavor.

Shrub Coke

This is a recommended drink made with vinegar and over 10 types of spices, and goes well with meals

In addition to mocktails, LiFE also offers a wide selection of food and alcoholic drinks, including cocktails

It can be enjoyed by both drinkers and non-drinkers, so it's sure to be a hit at end-of-year or New Year's parties

Also, I'm interested in the great value girls' night out plan (3,000 yen including tax) which includes appetizers and 120 minutes of all-you-can-drink!
Since it doesn't contain alcohol, there's no need to worry about drinking too much and getting a hangover, and I'd love to try a variety of flavors.
