[Miyagi Prefecture] Enjoy the unique taste of craft beer from Miyagi Prefecture (Sendai/southern area)!

As of June 2022, there are two microbreweries in Sendai City, and one each in Shiogama City, Natori City, and Kakuda City.

With the recent craft beer boom, the number of restaurants that carry beer is increasing, and there are several breweries planning to open in Sendai City.

BATSUJI BREWING (Aoba Ward, Sendai City)

In October 2021, it will be attached to the complex facility "CROSS B PLUS" in "Basho no Tsuji" in Sendai City, and has become a hot topic as the first stylish brewery in central Sendai.

Six types of craft beer are brewed in the six tanks that can be seen through the glass windows, including three types of hazy IPA made with IBUKI hops from Tono City, Iwate Prefecture.

At the on-site restaurant, you can enjoy delicious dishes that go well with beer and the perfect pairing with freshly brewed beer.

Kokucho Beer (Wakabayashi Ward, Sendai City)

This is Sendai's first microbrewery, which opened in 2017 in the merchant town of Kokumachi, as microbreweries were born due to the revision of the Liquor Tax Law.

The beer brewed by the owner, who is fascinated by Belgian beer, has a high alcohol content and is very satisfying to drink, and you can enjoy freshly brewed beer at the attached brewpub "Bianini".

Argon Brewing (Shiogama City)

The first microbrewery in Shiogama City, founded in 2019.

Not only the interior of the shop but also the brewing tanks are handmade by the owner, and the attached brewpub always serves five types of freshly brewed beer, including IPA and ale.

Kuon: A golden ale with an alcohol content of 7% made with Sasanishiki from Shiogama and hops from Tono.

Miyagi Yuriage Beer Brewery (Natori City)

The owner of the brewery had been operating Torinoumi Brewery in the neighboring town of Watari since 1997, but it was washed away by the tsunami of the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake.

After that, it continued to brew in Hanamaki City, Iwate Prefecture, but in October 2019, it moved to Yuriage, Natori Town, which was damaged by the severe tsunami, and is cooperating with redevelopment.

Sennan Craft Beer (Kakuda City)

Since 1997, we have been producing many styles of beer, with a focus on German style beer.

Located inside the Sennan Shinken Factory, this is a beer restaurant with a full German atmosphere, where you can enjoy freshly brewed beer along with sausages and sauerkraut made from local pork.

Summary (craft beer event information)

Many craft beer events are held in Sendai, but one that is a bit unusual is the ``World Beer and Meat Festival'' held at Rakuten Seimei Park Miyagi, the home of professional baseball's Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles.

Held every year, you can enjoy craft beers from around the world and meat dishes from all over Tohoku. Also, at the stadium, six types of craft beers from six Tohoku prefectures are sold as "Eagles Beer," and you can purchase them even if you aren't watching the game.
