What is "Future Forest Sendai 2023"?
The National Urban Greening Fair "Future Forest Sendai 2023" is one of the largest events to be held in Sendai in 2023. The event aims to raise awareness and spread knowledge about urban greening, with the theme "The future begins with the City of Forests, where people shine on a green stage." The event also seeks to promote urban greening with the cooperation of the national and local governments, as well as the private sector
This will be the first time Sendai City has held a national urban greening fair in 34 years, since the 1989 Green Fair Sendai
The main venue
The main venue for"Mirai no Mori Sendai2023 ," the "Aobayama Park Oimawashi Area Venue," is located on the banks of the Hirose River, and the nearest station is "Kokusai Center Station" on the Sendai City Subway Tozai Line
There will be guide signs along the way to the venue, and volunteers will also be on hand to guide you, so you can get to the venue smoothly
Welcome Garden
Once you pass through the main entrance, the first thing that greets you is the Welcome Garden, which is modeled after the bamboo decorations of Sendai's traditional Tanabata Festival

Large flowerbed "Hanabata Festival"
The large flowerbed that decorates the main venue, "Hanabata Decorations," is based on the streamers of the Sendai Tanabata Festival, which evokes the essence of Sendai, and the polka-dot battle coat worn by the Date clan
The main attractions are the flowing ribbon-shaped flower beds with 120,000 flower seedlings of about 200 varieties, and the way the color of the flower beds changes from the first half to the second half of the event. Part of the large flower bed is designated as a "large flower bed made by everyone," and local residents participated in planting flower seedlings last fall and before the opening

At the permanent Food Stand Sendai located in the main venue, you can casually enjoy light meals such as rice balls and pork cutlet sandwiches made with locally sourced ingredients, local beer, and gelato garnished with edible flowers
Food and drink booths (change weekly)
A variety of restaurants, from cafes to izakayas, will be set up in the main venue. You can enjoy your meal at your leisure while admiring the scenery of flowers and greenery
Food truck

Food trucks will be set up not only at the main venue but also in the downtown area, with a wide variety of food trucks changing weekly, offering sweets, fast food, ramen and other ingredients from Sendai and Miyagi
Green Wine Garden
[Opening period: June 8th (Thurs) - June 11th (Sun)]
We will have a wide selection of "Tohoku Wines" grown in the rich natural environment of Tohoku. You can enjoy them with local gourmet food prepared to go with the wines
Green BEER Garden
[Opening period: June 15th (Thu) - June 18th (Sun)] A wide selection of local craft beers from Sendai and the Tohoku region, along with local gourmet food that pairs perfectly with beer, will be available.
Sunset Bar
[Opening Period: May 26 (Fri) - May 28 (Sun), June 2 (Fri) - June 4 (Sun), June 9 (Fri) - June 11 (Sun)] During the "Mirai no Mori Sendai Night Park" event, this bar will be open as dusk falls, with a bonfire lit to create a relaxing atmosphere. In addition to craft beers, cocktails, and soft drinks, festival food will also be available.

The cafe "noaddress" that opened inside Sendai Ryokusaikan is recommended for its hearty hamburgers made with local ingredients. You can enjoy the flavors supervised by one-star chef Shusaku Toba in a relaxed atmosphere
