Microbreweries that produce craft beer in the area north of Sendai in Miyagi Prefecture are divided into two groups: long-established breweries that have been brewing "local beer" since the end of the 20th century, and breweries that have recently started brewing with the hope of restoring the disaster-stricken coastal areas. will be done.
Long-established breweries brew traditional beer in the authentic German style, while new microbreweries in the coastal area produce a wide variety of ales, including pale ales and IPAs.
BLACK TIDE BREWING (Kesennuma City)
This brewery was launched in 2020 under the concept of "building a community through craft beer" with the hope of helping the recovery and reconstruction of Kesennuma, which suffered major damage in the Great East Japan Earthquake.
From IPA, hazy, saison to lager, we make a variety of styles using different recipes each time, and we release over 4 new beers every month, so our website features over 80 beers!

Garya Beer (Onagawa Town)
Onagawa Town also suffered major damage during the Great East Japan Earthquake, with 80% of the town washed away.
This is a microbrewery specializing in Pace Ale that was launched in 2021 by the owner, who is originally from Onagawa, to reborn the town.
Up to 10 types of craft beer are poured into your glass from 10 taps in the attached taproom, and beers from other breweries are also available, so you can enjoy comparing them.
In January 2022, we successfully crowdfunded the purchase of a large prefabricated refrigerator to sell beer in bottles. The project is currently underway, so until you can order it via mail order, please drink freshly brewed beer at the store.
Naruko wind (Osaki City)
The community-based Naruko Onsen Brewery, located in Onikobe Onsen in the Naruko Onsen Village, has been brewing unique craft beers using local ingredients and high-quality water since 1999.
At the attached restaurant, you can enjoy these beers, low-malt beer, and doburoku along with delicious food.
Recommended standard beer of Naruko no Kaze
Highland Lager: An orthodox lager beer made with plenty of barley malt.
Wild grapes: A fruity drink with a slightly sweet cocktail or wine-like taste.
Yukimusubi: Local rice ``Yukimusubi'' is used, and the sweetness and sourness are similar to champagne.
Yakurai Beer (Kami Town)
Yakurai Brewery has been brewing local beer at the general exchange terminal facility in Kami Town since 1999.
The water used for the preparation is Funagata no Hisui, a natural water from the glacier layer beneath the town at the foot of Mt. Yakurai.
You can enjoy 100% German malt beer brewed with this water at the on-site Restaurant Buna.

Matsushima Beer (Osato Town)
Located in the town of Osato, inland from Matsushima, it is a ``land of dreams'' where you can enjoy hot springs and local beer.We have been brewing beer since 1997 as the first craft beer brewery in Miyagi Prefecture.
Authentic German beer is brewed by German brewmasters using ingredients such as malt, hops, yeast, and yeast imported from Germany, giving it a truly authentic taste.
