A stylish cafe has opened in the souvenir shop on the second floor of Sendai Station. It's called DateCafeO'der, and it focuses on Sendai's specialties. Their recommended drink is the amazake latte! It's a latte made with amazake from "Ichinokura," a famous sake brewery in Miyagi Prefecture, a region known for its rice.
While amazake (sweet rice drink) is known for its rich sweetness, amazake latte has a surprisingly light flavor. Its refreshing aftertaste is its main appeal. Plus, with a variety of flavors including milk, matcha, hojicha (roasted green tea), kinako (roasted soybean flour), strawberry, and ginger, you won't be able to try them all in one visit!
