A stylish cafe has opened in the souvenir shop on the second floor of Sendai Station. It's called Date Cafe O'der and focuses on Sendai specialties. Their recommended drink is the amazake latte! It's a latte made with amazake from Ichinokura, a famous sake brewery in Miyagi, a rice-producing region.
Amazake is known for its rich sweetness, but amazake latte has a surprisingly light taste. Its appeal lies in the refreshing feeling after drinking it. What's more, it comes in a variety of flavors, including milk, matcha, roasted green tea, kinako (roasted soybean flour), strawberry, and ginger, so you won't be able to enjoy it all in one sitting!
