Grilled Motsuna Marusho

Motsuya Marusho is a traditional izakaya that offers the three great things: delicious, cheap, and fast. Oden starts at 50 yen per piece, and there are 14 varieties of standard motsuya, including skirt steak, top tongue, and throat flute, all priced at 130 yen. Refills of the cabbage appetizer are priced at an incredible 10 yen

They also have a wide variety of other dishes on the menu, such as odorless stewed offal and fried seaweed for 80 yen, and drinks are available for around 300 yen, so you can eat and drink and be completely satisfied with just 1,000 yen. It's conveniently located just a 3-minute walk from Sendai Station, so it's also recommended for a casual stop

Senya Public Bar

Senya is an izakaya located on the first basement floor, right next to the Sendai Morning Market. Opened in September 2020, it has a clean and calm atmosphere and serves delicious food at reasonable prices

Their specialties are the jet-black "Dote Miso Oden" and "Fresh Fish of the Day." The flavorful beef offal and daikon radish, as well as the fresh sashimi displayed in the display case, all pair perfectly with alcohol. They also have a selection of local sake, so sake lovers will enjoy it too

Yakitori Kimura is located in Sendai Bunka Yokocho, and is a restaurant where you can enjoy a quick drink, a little conversation with the hostess, and then head out. The popular skewers are priced at 90 yen for pork belly, 80 yen for liver, and 80 yen for skin, but are known for being incredibly delicious

The first floor is limited to around 10 seats, mostly at the counter, and it is a popular restaurant that fills up quickly, so if you want to be sure to get in, it's best to go early or on a Saturday

Pub The Swan

Pub The Swan is a standing bar run by Sugawara Liquor Store, which was founded in 1895. Located in the heart of Sendai, right in front of the Disney Store, it offers free seating and light meals such as carefully selected craft beer and fish and chips

The weekly limited edition sweets and coffee are also popular secrets on the menu. You can also smoke inside the store, so it's recommended for those who want to enjoy the combination of tobacco and alcohol

Inatora 2

Inatora 2 is an izakaya located in a corner of Toraya Yokocho, close to Kokubuncho, Sendai's downtown. Its greatest attraction is the tap shochu. For 600 yen per hour, you can enjoy endless amounts of 20% Kinmiya shochu just by turning on the tap

It's open from 3pm, so it's also recommended for daytime drinking. The food menu offers a variety of dishes, including chicken broth oden, grilled skewers, and a la carte dishes, so you can create a combination that suits your tastes
