table of contents
Hakozuka, Natori City, Miyagi Prefecture.
A special Western-style confectionery shop has opened near the quiet residential area of Aishima.
"Adding a special smile to your everyday smiles"—this is the philosophy behind Panse, a bakery born in Miyagi Prefecture. Fromage Hakozuka, a Western-style confectionery workshop, was created to help bring smiles to various everyday moments
. What kind of stories will unfold there?
This time, we will introduce you to Fromage Hakozuka
It's not just about buying and eating! What are the many experiences you can have at Fromage Hakozuka?
Fromage Hakozuka offers a number of special experiences that you won't find at an ordinary Western confectionery shop
The typical experience at a regular Western-style confectionery shop is to "buy" and "eat" beautiful baked goods and cakes on the spot.
Of course, Fromage Hacoduka also sells baked goods and cakes, and its attached cafe, Hacoduka, offers sweets and drinks.
So, what kind of special experience can you have there that you can't get at a regular Western-style confectionery shop?
Hakoduka LABO: The first cake-making workshop in the prefecture!
One of the most enduring and popular career dreams for girls is becoming a cake shop owner or pastry chef.
And at Fromage Hakozuka, that dream can actually come true!
That corner is Hakoduka Labo,
a workshop where you can create a one-of-a-kind cake while thinking of someone special.
The cakes you make are one-of-a-kind in the world, made only by you.
There is nothing more gratifying than giving a cake filled with your feelings to someone, or sharing it together.
Kids' chef coats are available for free rental, and chef hats are given as gifts!
This attraction is highly recommended for children who dream of becoming pastry chefs!
Please note that reservations are required, with one group per day on weekdays and two groups per day on weekends and holidays
A wonderful day spent on the terrace! Cherry blossoms bloom in the spring!
The interior of the cafe is lovely, but on a nice day, why not enjoy tea on the terrace?
Cafe Hakoduka has terrace seating at the back.
Located near a quiet residential area, the atmosphere on the terrace is especially wonderful.
Enjoying conversation with family, friends, or your loved one while surrounded by pleasant air and sunshine is the ultimate luxury!
In spring, the Yohkou cherry blossoms in Hakozuka bloom in full bloom, so we recommend relaxing on the terrace while enjoying the cherry blossoms!
Incidentally, the coffee served at Cafe Hakoduka is made using a special method called the light siphon.
The fantastical light from the halogen lamp used to boil the water is so captivating that you'll be mesmerized just by looking at it!
I actually tried it!
Now, while Fromage Hakozuka offers many wonderful experiences, what about the actual taste?
If the Western-style sweets don't taste good, it would ruin what should be a special day!
So, from here on, I will review the Western-style sweets from Fromage Hakozuka that I actually tried!
The cream puffs have a moist texture and a rich egg flavor that's addictive!

First up is the cream puff sold in the store.
As the name "The Cream Puff" suggests, it was simply delicious.
The choux pastry had a moist and carefully crafted texture.
Instead of using the recently popular crispy cookie dough, I was able to fully enjoy the flavor of the dough itself.
On the other hand, the cream has a mild, light sweetness
that complements the rich egg flavor of the choux pastry.
The exquisite harmony of the choux pastry and cream
is sure to become addictive after just one bite!
Put a smile on your face with the cheese cookie sandwich "Egao no Oka"!

From the sweets section, we'd like to introduce "Egao no Oka," a cheese cookie sandwich!
This is a cookie sandwich with cheese in between.
The cheese layer is thick, resulting in an overall soft texture.
Although it's called a cookie sandwich, the key is to enjoy the softness and volume rather than the crispness.
These kinds of sweets are usually made on the sweeter side, but the appeal of Egao no Oka lies in the saltiness of the cheese. The saltiness
enhances the subtle sweetness to a high level, so you won't get tired of eating them no matter how many you have.
The use of a cheese with a distinctive flavor is probably the secret to why you won't get tired of them.
It was the perfect treat to serve to guests when they came over!
Please also check out Pensee!
Fromage Hakozuka also has a Panse bakery on its premises. You
can enjoy delicious bread at Panse and then have some sweets for dessert, or buy some baked goods as souvenirs for someone special and then enjoy some bread on your way home. It would be wonderful to enjoy both bread and sweets in your own way!
