the article I posted a while ago ( [Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture] What is "Koriyama Black", which has been loved for many years in Koriyama City, one of the most competitive ramen areas in the country? ), and after that, it became a candidate as a tourist destination near the station. I went to Asakakunitsuko Shrine, which was mentioned in .
About 10 minutes walk from Koriyama Station! Tourist spots near the station.
If you walk for a while along the shopping street called Sakura-dori from Koriyama Station, you will cross Showa-dori (former National Route 4).
There is a pedestrian bridge, so right after you cross it you will find Asaka Kunizo Shrine, the Koriyama general guardian deity.
A mysterious yet cute object located just off the pedestrian bridge
If you cross the pedestrian bridge and walk a little south along Showa-dori, you will see a splendid granite torii gate.
The shrine is very well maintained and it is clear that it is loved by the citizens of Koriyama.
Its history is about 1900 years! A historic shrine revered by the name of Hachiman-sama
During the Yamato court, in the 5th year of Emperor Seimu (135), Hitone no Mikoto was appointed as the first Asaka Kunizo and founded Asaka Province, located in Mt. Akagi (present-day Akagi-cho, Koriyama City). It is said that the shrine was founded to enshrine Wakumusubi no Kami and Amenoyutsuhiko no Mikoto. ) is said to have moved to
2022-135 years… its history goes back to 1887!
During Sakanoue Tamuramaro's eastern expedition around 18th year of Enryaku (799), Sakanoue Tamuramaro enshrined Hachiman no Okami, and it became known as Hachiman Shrine, and became popularly known as ``Hachiman-sama.'' .
Afterwards, Asaka Ito's Inari Okami and the god of learning, Asaka Tenmangu, were enshrined, and there were other shrines on the grounds as well, including Asaka Rensai, a famous Confucian scholar who was born as the son of a priest at Asaka Kunizukuri Shrine. There is also a memorial museum for Asaka Gonsai.
It seems that various gods are enshrined here.
A monument commemorating the birthplace of Asaka's place name. ``Azaka'' seems to have originated from the descendants of Hidene no Mikoto, who founded the shrine, who called themselves the Asaka clan and served as the head of the shrine
A luxurious Kagura hall. Sasanokawa Sake Brewery, a sake brewery in Asaka that has been in operation since the Edo period, was being dedicated.
And this is the first time I've seen such a big mom! You can't really tell from the photo, but it's quite large.
The main shrine is made entirely of cypress and is 12m high. The current building was rebuilt in 1926 (Taisho 15).
The worship hall was rebuilt in 1810 (Bunka 7th year) and is said to be one of the few remaining buildings from the Edo period in Koriyama City.
Various festivals are held throughout the year. The highlight is the annual autumn festival!
As the shrine is well-loved by the locals, various festivals are held throughout the year.
- January 1st New Year's Day Festival
- January 5th Gold Coin Festival
- February Setsubun Oharai Doll Festival
- February 11th National Foundation Festival
- April 15th Spring Festival
- July 31st Summer Purification Puppet Festival
- September 27th, 28th, 29th Autumn Festival
- November 15th Shichigosan Festival
- December 28th: Daikagami-mochi dedication ceremony
In particular, the Autumn Reitaisai held in September is a festival to give thanks for a rich harvest and the safety of the parishioners, and the mikoshi togyo (portable shrine) is held since 1765. After all, it has a long history!
On the night of the 28th, 17 floats will appear, and on the night of the 29th, 3 main mikoshi shrines and 35 town mikoshi shrines will appear, making the festival a lively event.
Furthermore, approximately 80,000 people visit the shrine every year during the New Year period.
I received a goshuin stamp at the shrine office.
It's close to Koriyama Station and has excellent access, so why not stop by when you visit Koriyama!
