table of contents
I visited the "Nasebe Naru Autumn Festival" held in Yonezawa City, Yamagata Prefecture.
I had posted a preview article about the event last time, but it only made me more excited, so I arrived on the day feeling excited. The event was held with such force that it overcame the bad weather at the start!
We hope to share with you the joy of the "Naseba Naru Autumn Festival," which took place over two days on September 24th and 25th. At the end, we'll also include some photos of authentic Eisa! Please read to the end.
Autumn festivals are the best!

Unfortunately, it rained from the morning on the first day of the Nasebanaru Autumn Festival, September 24th. However, the people who were looking forward to the festival came with umbrellas in hand, and the rain stopped in the afternoon, as though they were overcome by their feelings for the festival.
We were unable to meet the members of the Love Warriors Corps (Uesugi Kagekatsu, Naoe Kanetsugu, Date Masamune, Mogami Yoshimitsu, and Maeda Keiji) as they were out on the battlefield
I'm sorry to say this as a substitute, but I saw someone cosplaying as Mikazuki Munechika, a famous character I was touched by the sight of him giving a sachet to a small child .
Delicious Autumn Discovery!

They were already sold out before 11am ! The fact that the 1,200 yen special bowl sold out
To purchase this bowl, you had to buy a set of two tickets for 600 yen each and then exchange them at the store.
Is unmanned sales old-fashioned and a time slip?

There was also an unmanned sales corner called ``Bokkuiichi'' where handmade items and agricultural products were displayed on benches
The fare is paid by putting it into a hanging fish basket (a tool used to catch fish in rivers, etc.). There is also a currency exchange booth in case you don't have any coins, which is quite interesting.
It is said that ``Bokkui Ichi'' has been around since the Edo period, and even if the market was unmanned, there was no one who refused to pay or cheated. This is a culture that I want to pass on !
I also visited each booth and found my favorites. Overall, the prices are 40% to 60% cheaper than the market price, and when you put money in, you can't help but say, ``Thank you!'' I was so impressed
Admire traditional techniques!

There was a demonstration and sale of Otaka Poppo, a wooden carved toy that is handed down in the Sasano district of Yonezawa City
This folk craft, Sasano Ittobori," is made by carving a piece of wood called "Koshiabura" with a single blade. Recently, many popular figures, such as cute animals (pandas, penguins, and owls), have been made. As the end of the year approaches, there is no time to rest as they work on making the zodiac animal of the next year.
Some people even buy items based on their own zodiac sign or the zodiac sign of their family members . I was captivated by the cute creatures that were born from the masterful skill of using a single knife.
The experience corner is also very popular with little kids!
I was able to see the real Eisa in Tohoku!

Members of the Eisa Youth Association came from Okinawa Prefecture, which has a sister city relationship with Yonezawa City . The festival venue seemed to be filled with the Okinawan atmosphere, with the powerful drumming and dancing that resonated in your stomach, and the piercing sounds of the unique whistling.
The powerful movements are heroic and seem overwhelming, but the people watching gradually found their bodies swaying naturally to the rhythm.
summary
Unfortunately, the first day of the Nasebanaru Autumn Festival got off to a rainy start, but as if the hopes of the people who had been looking forward to the festival had been received, the rain subsided in the afternoon, and the festival was filled with experiences, challenges, and delicious food corners. It was a great success.
The dance performance by the Okinawa Eisa Youth Association, who came from a long distance to participate, gave a full-fledged performance without getting wet in the rain.
The second day was blessed with clear skies and the event was even more crowded, making it a great success.
Although it was an autumn festival in a local city, it was a very enjoyable festival with sister cities also participating. It's just finished, but I don't think I'm the only one who's already looking forward to next year.
