Musubimaru, the tourism promotional character for Sendai City and Miyagi Prefecture, was born on March 8, 2007 (Heisei 19)

His face is shaped like a rice ball and features a helmet ornament of Date Masamune, the first lord of the Sendai domain.As the section chief (former section chief) in charge of promoting tourism in Sendai and Miyagi, he greets visitors in the lobby on the first floor of the Miyagi Prefectural Government Office and travels around the country to promote tourism in Miyagi Prefecture
