table of contents
Did you know that there is a pyramid in Aomori Prefecture? It is not a very well-known place, and only known by those in the know, but Aomori Prefecture actually has many mysterious spots
we will explore the mystery of the Oishigami Pyramid, located in Shingo Village, Sannohe District, Aomori Prefecture
The pyramid in Aomori Prefecture is the "Oishigami Pyramid"

The Oishigami Pyramid is a group of megaliths located in Torai, Shingo Village, Sannohe District, Aomori Prefecture. Each of the stones, including the megalith with a circumference of about 12 meters, is given a name such as compass stone, sun stone, constellation stone, and mirror stone
The reason why this place is said to be a pyramid comes from the contents of the "Takeuchi Documents," ancient documents handed down through the Takeuchi family for generations, which were made public in 1928 by Takeuchi Kiyomaro " .
There are various theories about the circumstances leading to the discovery
- When Komaru, who was deciphering the contents of the Takeuchi Documents, visited Torai Village in Aomori Prefecture (now Torai, Shingo Village), the "Tomb of Christ." Toya Banzan, a Japanese painter from Aomori Prefecture who was accompanying him, discovered the "Oishigami Pyramid."
- It was discovered by Sakai Katsutoki, who , based on the Takeuchi Documents, proposed that pyramids exist in Japan and investigated various locations
...It is said that the truth of this is unknown, but both theories share the same basis, the " Takeuchi Documents."
What is the "Oishigami Pyramid"?
This group of megaliths known as the Oishigami Pyramids is said to have been discovered in 1935
And although it is called a pyramid, its shape is not the triangular cone shape that we generally imagine. So why is this group of megaliths called a "pyramid"?
Katsunori Sakai, a leading expert on Japanese pyramids who also appeared in the story of their discovery, proposes the following definition of a Japanese pyramid:
Definition of a Japanese pyramid
- A mountain with a regular triangular shape, whether natural or man-made
- Near the top there is a spherical sunstone surrounded by a ring of stones
- There is a worship hall separate from the main hall
If we compare the Oishigami Pyramid with these conditions,
Since it is not a triangle, it is a little difficult to meet condition "1"
It meets condition 2 because it contains a group of megaliths including the Sun Stone, Compass Stone, Constellation Stone, and Mirror Stone
It is unclear what constitutes the main hall and worship hall, so it is unclear whether it meets condition 3, but one theory is a bit far-fetched, saying that the "Oishigami Pyramid" would be created by using the nearby Towariyama as the worship hall and the group of megaliths as the main hall.
The Oishigami Pyramid on-site
As mentioned above, there are many megaliths in the area

the Sun Stone is that it is "a stone that is said to have been used to worship the shining sun and reflecting it in the past."
A realistic interpretation would be that the sunlight would just shine into the forest at the right time, shining precisely onto this huge rock

the compass stone has a crack in it, and although it is unclear what causes it, it is said to correctly indicate the four directions: north, south, east and west.
Kagamiishi is a huge, flat stone over 10 meters high that fell over in a major earthquake in 1858. Ancient characters appear to have been carved into the surface of the stone, so it may have originally been erected as a stone tablet.
There is a legend that says that in the past, attempts were made to erect this mirror stone several times, but each time heavy rain fell and it was not possible to erect the stone
Constellation stones have the major constellations engraved on their surface.
It is unclear whether it was a pyramid, but since there are traces of celestial bodies such as the sun and stars, it is possible that it was a place of worship or a place used for some kind of ritual

There is also something that looks like a shrine, but it does not appear to be very old as the scaffolding is made of iron pipes
summary
there is also the "Tomb of Christ," which is also mentioned in the Takeuchi Documents
Some people may say, "That's just the occult!", but it might be fun to take a trip that allows you to accept and enjoy the occult with a certain degree of tolerance every once in a while
