"Harakomeshi" is a local dish originating in the Arahama district of Watari Town, consisting of rice topped with generous portions of salmon fillets and large harako (ikura). Watari Town established this commemorative day with the hope that people all over the country would learn about its deliciousness.

The Awanosu Incident (Fukushima Prefecture)

On October 8, 1585 (November 29, 1585), Date Masamune's father, Terumune, was abducted by Hatakeyama Yoshitsugu, the 9th head of the Nihonmatsu clan, at Miyamori Castle (present-day Nihonmatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture), and died along with the Nihonmatsu forces who had abducted him .

Masamune was furious and decided to attack Nihonmatsu Castle, which later led to the Battle of Hitotoribashi
