During the Aizu War, a part of the Boshin War , in which the Aizu region of Fukushima Prefecture was the main battlefield , on September 22, 1868 (November 6, 1868 in the Gregorian calendar) , the Aizu Domain surrendered to the new government forces, and Tsuruga Castle was opened to the public.

This happened exactly one month after the defeat at the Battle of Mother Pass on August 21, 1868 (October 6, 1868 in the Gregorian calendar) and the entry of the new government forces into Wakamatsu Castle

The day Nakadori (asteroid) was discovered (Fukushima Prefecture)

Asteroid Nakadori.USA was discovered on September 22, 1998 , at the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, Arizona,

It was named on May 9, 2012, in honor of the "Nakadori" region of Fukushima Prefecture , which suffered extensive damage following the Great East Japan Earthquake
