Have you ever crossed Fukuura Bridge in Matsushima? Starting today, I personally recommend it with all my might! [Miyagi Prefecture]
table of contents
Have you ever crossed Fukuura Bridge in Matsushima? Actually, I was born and raised in Miyagi Prefecture, but I have never crossed Fukuura Bridge.
When I went sightseeing to Matsushima, I always looked far away and thought to myself, ``I'll be there someday, so I don't need to cross today.''
This time I've posted it previously
So, when I went to Matsushima to interview, I was alone and had some free time, so I thought, "If I were to cross, why not go today?" and I'd like to share my honest thoughts and reactions about how I went to Fukuurajima, just beyond Fukuurabashi Bridge.
What is Fukuura Bridge?

Fukuura Bridge was established in 1967 as the first toll bridge in Miyagi Prefecture. It is a pedestrian-only bridge that crosses over to Fukuura Island, and is 252m long. The vermilion-painted bridge is also known as the ``Encounter Bridge''.
To cross Fukuura Bridge, you need to pay a toll at the cafe "Bayland" on the mainland side, but there is also a fee.
Adults (high school students and above): 200 yen / Children (elementary and junior high school students): 100 yen
Therefore, it can be said that it is a place that is relatively cheap and easy to visit.
It is also close to Matsushima Kaigan Central Square, and is a popular tourist spot when visiting Matsushima.
Beyond Fukuura Bridge?

After crossing the 252m long Fukuura Bridge, you will arrive at Fukuura Island, the entire island of which has been designated as a prefectural natural park.
It was my first time to cross here, so I was surprised to find out that it is a prefectural natural park, so it is very well maintained.

Up until now, I had thought to myself, ``There's nothing at the end of the crossing anyway, right?'' but no, no.
There's a tea shop, a multi-purpose plaza, and a beautiful view, but it's not just about that; more than 130 species of trees and 200 species of wildflowers grow naturally on the island, including the northernmost species of temperate plants and subtropical plants.
“Isn’t this place like a theme park all on its own island?”
That's my honest opinion.

There are many places to see the scenery, but we recommend the observation deck!

There are many places on the island where you can see the scenery.
Of course, all of the spots on the island offer spectacular views, but the best one is the observation deck.
The observation deck is about a 15 minute walk after entering the island. Located on the back side of the island entrance, you can see the Matsushima Islands from the very center of the Matsushima Islands! In other words, it has the power of other islands, and it is also a place where you can see a unique scenery among Matsushima's scenic spots.
It's spacious! Luxurious time, multipurpose plaza

I think everyone will be surprised at the size of the multipurpose plaza on the island.
Simply put, wouldn't it be possible to play baseball and soccer with ease? That's about it.
What's more, this plaza has flowerbeds with various kinds of flowers, and depending on the season, you can relax on the small beach in front of the beautiful flowers, making it a truly luxurious place to spend time. .
It's easy to see why Fukuura Island is blessed with a diverse landscape.
Personally recommended spots

I would like to share with you some spots that I personally liked.
It's a place you can find just by passing the stairs to the observation deck.
I forgot the name, but is it a small cape? This makes it a scenic photo spot.

The scaffolding is made of large stones, so you need to be careful, but I think it's well worth a visit.
Please come and visit us.
summary
This was the first time I've ever crossed Fukuura Bridge and went to Fukuura Island. It is a theme park with a diverse range of terrain and a wide variety of plants ecosystems.
What's more, there's nothing to say about the scenery as one of Japan's three views. As I mentioned earlier, the view really feels like "looking at the Matsushima Archipelago from within the Matsushima Archipelago."
I thought so. "Next time, everyone will be happy if they come on a family trip to Matsushima, just for Fukuurashima."
