[Iwate] Hachimantai is a mountain group with a 360 degree flat summit! A spot with many swamps that attracts tourists

Hachimantai is a gentle mountain group

Iwate's representative mountains include Mt. Iwate and Hachimantai. While Mt. Iwate is an independent mountain, Hachimantai was formed from several mountain groups. The silhouette of the mountain range is extremely gentle, as its name suggests. For many people, it reminds them of Utsukushigahara in Yatsugatake.

The fall foliage that glides along the foot of the mountain is extremely beautiful. Many people visit Hachimantai during the autumn foliage season to see this.

Hachimantai is a popular spot for many mountain climbers. For a snack, Nanbu rice crackers are recommended. Nanbu rice crackers are a local snack in Iwate. The apple flavor has apple chips on top and tastes like a fruit tart. Since it contains sugar, it is an ideal source of energy while climbing.

If you take the Hachimantai Aspite Line, you can go to the parking lot near the top of Hachimantai. Aspite is a shield volcano. This means that it is a very gentle oblong volcano.

The parking lot near the summit is at an altitude of 1,541m. Just like Hachimantai, a spectacular panoramic view spreads out in front of you. There is a prefectural border sign between Akita and Iwate prefectures in the parking lot. Hachimantai straddles Akita and Iwate prefectures in equal area.

There is usually a sign labeled ``Trailhead'' at the point where you are about to enter the mountain path. However, Hachimantai is different. Since the summit is close, there is a sign for the ``summit entrance''. This is why it has a reputation for being easy to climb, even for beginner climbers.

It is characterized by many swamps such as Gama-numa and Megane-numa.

The mountain trail is also reinforced with concrete and wood, making it very easy to walk. By the time you get to the top of the mountain, you can enjoy the elegant scenery of Gama-numa, Hachiman-numa, Megane-numa, and Kagaminuma. The summit is a vast, mysterious 360-degree flat terrain. You can enjoy the view of the mountain top that is unique to Hachimantai.

There is Ryounso next to Hachimanuma. The balcony here is so elegant that it looks like something out of a drama. You can also enjoy barbecues here. We recommend the pudding from Kuzumaki Kogen Farm, a local gourmet dish in Iwate. They are also sold at roadside stations throughout Iwate.

Enjoying Iwate's locally produced pudding while surrounded by wetlands is a great experience.

Meganenuma is a collection of water in two craters. When viewed from above, they look like glasses. Kagami-numa has particularly high transparency among the many swamps in Hachimantai. It is popular among tourists as it is a mirror-like swamp.
