Memorial Day for Nanbu Nobunao, the First Lord of Morioka Domain (Iwate Prefecture)

Nanbu Nobunao, the 26th head of the Nanbu clan,isconsidered the founder of the Morioka Domain (Nanbu Domain) and the restorer of the Nanbu clan.

He planned the construction of Morioka Castle and obtained Hideyoshi's approval, receiving a vermilion seal document of authorization. However, he died the following year,October 5,1599 (November 22, 1599), and Morioka Castle was built and completed by his successor, Toshinao.

He died at the age of 54. His grave is at Sankoji Temple in Nanbu Town, Sannohe County, Aomori Prefecture
