Iwateya , a company that manufactures and sells Nanbu senbei, a specialty of Iwate and Aomori prefectures has designated October 8th as "Iwateya Day."

The date was chosen because 10 can be read as "i (1) wa (0 = ring = wa)" and 5 can be read as "te = te" from the palm of a hand with five fingers open (like the "paper" hand in rock-paper-scissors), resulting in "Iwate"

Nanbu Nobunao, the 26th head of the Nanbu clan , is considered the founder of the Morioka Domain (Nanbu Domain) and the founder of the Nanbu clan's revival.

He planned the construction of Morioka Castle and received Hideyoshi's approval and a red seal of approval, but he died the following year October 5, 1599 (November 22, 1599), and Morioka Castle was built and completed by his successor, Toshinao.

He died at the age of 54. His grave is at Sankoji Temple in Nanbu Town, Sannohe County, Aomori Prefecture
