Every year on November 11th , the Kazuno Kiritanpo Club in Kazuno City, Akita Prefecture, established "Kiritanpo Day" because the way the "tanpo" (rice cakes) are roasted upright over a hearth resembles the number "1111." This day has been recognized by the Japan Anniversary Association.
