"Tenku Sauna Ura Tengu" has opened on the rooftop of the Yuzawa Royal Hotel in Yuzawa City, Akita Prefecture

After warming up in a dome-shaped tent sauna and cooling off in a cold bath, you can enjoy the fresh air on the rooftop overlooking the city. On clear days, you can even see Mount Chokai

General use starts at 1,000 yen for 60 minutes. Friday nights and Saturdays/Sundays are by reservation only for private rentals, allowing you to enjoy the space in a way that suits you, whether you're alone or with friends, depending on the day and time

Ura Tengu is locatedon the rooftop of the Yuzawa Royal Hotel. It is characterized by its location, with few buildings obstructing the view, allowing you to overlook the townscape of Yuzawa.

The rooftop features an outdoor relaxation area equipped with a tent sauna, a cold plunge pool, and chairs for resting. After using the sauna and cold plunge pool, you can relax outdoors

On clear days,Mount Chokai, also known as "Dewa Fuji." Despite being in the middle of the city, it's a place where you can relax and enjoy the view of the sky and mountains.

The sauna uses a dome-shaped tent called "sotoburo DOME12." The stove is the "LEGEND 125" from the Finnish sauna brand HARVIA

A cold plunge pool is also located on the rooftop, allowing you to cool down after warming up in the sauna before moving on to enjoying the fresh air outside

Since the facility is used by both men and women,wearing sauna wear is required. Sauna wear can be borrowed free of charge, and towels are available for rent for a fee.

The origin of the name "Ura Tengu"

The facility's name, "Ura Tengu," is inspired by the Tengu, a mythical creature that appears in Japanese folklore

According to the operator, while Tengu are said to lead people down the path of evil, Ura-Tengu, their "other side,"are beings that guide people to the blissful state of "getting into the zone" through saunas. The facility's name reflects this idea.

The concept is"Leisure time for everyone." It was created with the hope that people can make time to rest their minds and bodies for themselves amidst their busy daily lives filled with work, housework, and childcare.

Our services are divided into hourly general use and reservation-based private rentals for groups

Regular business days areMonday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. The official website indicates that Tuesday will be a regular closing day.

General admission fees and opening hours

For daytime general use, you can choose from the following three options depending on the length of your stay

60 minutes: 1,000 yen
90 minutes: 1,500 yen
120 minutes: 2,000 yen

Opening hours on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays are 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM, with last entry at 7:00 PM.After 4:00 PM,you can use the facility without time restrictions until closing for 2,000 yen.

On Fridays, general admission hours are from 9:30 to 16:00, with the last entry at 15:00. The facility will then switch to private rentals in the evening

Private bookings are available for a maximum of 8 people. Pricing is based on the number of people

Friday nights and Saturdays/Sundays are by reservation only and available for private bookings. The available time slots are as follows:

Friday: 17:00 - 19:30
Saturday and Sunday, Part 1: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Saturday and Sunday, Part 2: 13:30 - 15:30
Saturday and Sunday, Part 3: 16:30 - 18:30

The private rental fee is10,000 yen for 1-2 people and 15,000 yen for 3 people. For groups of 4 or more, an additional 2,000 yen is added to the 3-person rate, up to a maximum of 8 people.
