[What day is it today? | Tohoku Edition] What day is July 26th?

Fukushima Peach Day (Fukushima Prefecture)

Fukushima Peach Day

July 26th is "Fukushima Peach Day," established by the Fukushima Mirai Agricultural Cooperative in Fukushima City, Fukushima Prefecture, to let even more people know about the deliciousness of Fukushima peaches .

The dates were chosen because the peak season for peaches is from mid-July to early August , and because of "Akatsuki," a peach variety representative of Fukushima. When "Akatsuki" was born, it was given the individual number "re-13," so three days that are doubles of 13, " July 13th, July 26th, and August 8th, " are designated as "Fukushima Peach Day."
