Make your own original seafood bowl right after you buy it! Shiogama Seafood Wholesale Market (Miyagi Prefecture)
table of contents

Shiogama City in Miyagi Prefecture faces the Pacific Ocean.
Near the port is Shiogama Seafood Wholesale Market, which boasts one of the largest catches of fresh tuna in Japan.
This time, we went inside the wholesale market, which not only transacts with dealers but also sells freshly caught seafood to the general public as a tourist market!
Tasting Otoro?! A shocking first impression

As I entered the market, I heard the loud voices of people trying to attract customers everywhere.
When I approached a shop in the corner of the entrance, it seemed they would offer samples.
I was shocked by the items on offer!
"Tasting: Fatty tuna"
It was so shocking that I regretfully forgot to take a photo, but they were generously offering samples of otoro tuna.
The otoro was a pink fillet with thick fatty pieces that looked like a crosswalk.
According to the owner, "This is a cut that you would never get at a regular restaurant."
With one bite, it had a firm texture yet a strange taste that melted softly in your mouth.
Despite the amount of fat, it left a refreshing feeling after eating, a taste that can only be found at a market.
Seafood is incredibly cheap! You can even make your own original seafood bowl on the spot!
The other fish I encountered afterwards were also very cheap.
I had planned to eat at a nearby restaurant that day, but quickly changed my mind and decided to have the sashimi I bought here for lunch.
In fact, Shiogama Nakaoroshi Market sells rice that can be used to make original seafood bowls.
I bought all my favorite sashimi, including salmon, flounder, and red shrimp, and finished off by buying the local specialty, tuna belly!

It's amazing that you can buy all this and get it all for just 1,300 yen!
Of course, the taste is amazing.
It's nice to take it home and eat it, but nothing beats the joy of enjoying freshly cut sashimi on the spot!
Enjoy fresh seafood at home with convenient online shopping!
In fact, some of the stores at Shiogama Nakaoroshi Market offer online shopping. You
don't have plans to go to Shiogama, but you want to eat that tuna again!
To meet this demand, you can purchase a variety of items, from fresh fish stores to stores specializing in crustaceans like shrimp and crab, and even stores selling tofu and konjac.
You can jump to the online shopping section of the official website, so if you've fallen in love with its deliciousness, it's worth taking a look!
