Akita Toshisue the first lord of the Miharu Domain in Mutsu Province and the third head of the Akita family, died of illness at Osaka Castle on January 3, 1649 ,

The Akita clan was transferred from Akita Port in Dewa Province to Shishido in Hitachi Province in 1602, replacing the Satake clan. In 1645, they were transferred again to Miharu. They ruled the area for a long time after that, until the abolition of the feudal domains and establishment of prefectures
