[Miyagi] Matsushima gourmet food is all about oysters! A charming restaurant where you can eat for just 1,000 yen

Matsushima oysters are in season every year from October to March. They are known for their plump yet firm oysters, which are highly nutritious, thanks to the abundant minerals carried by the rivers that flow into Matsushima Bay.
Matsushima, one of Miyagi Prefecture's leading tourist destinations, is lined with restaurants where you can enjoy delicious oysters.
I'm very curious to know how they are enjoyed!

Matsushima Fish Market "Matsushima Oyster Burger"

Matsushima Fish Market, which boasts a wide selection of seafood and delicacies delivered directly from the source, also has a restaurant. One of
the specialties here is the Matsushima Oyster Burger, a croquette sandwiched between Matsushima oysters and béchamel sauce. You'll definitely be impressed by the crispy cream croquette. They
also pay special attention to the buns, which are made with rice flour from Miyagi Prefecture.
Despite the generous portion size, it's reasonably priced at just 350 yen.

Minami stable "Namakaki"

Minamibeya, located near Godaido, is a restaurant that is open from 9am to 3pm. It used to be an eel restaurant, and you can still order unaju (rice bowls) here
The popular menu item here is the "Nama Kaki" (raw oysters), which contains four raw oysters in their shells. You'll be enchanted by the large oysters. Enjoy them with ponzu sauce or cocktail sauce, depending on your preference
You can order it all year round, but in the winter we serve oysters from Matsushima
Four raw oysters cost 1,000 yen, but you can also get three for 750 yen

Gozainya "Oyster Pudding"

Now that you've had your fill, why not try a unique dessert? The restaurant "Gozain-ya" is located on the second floor of the "Matsushima Kamaboko Honpo Main Store," where you can see the Godaido Hall and Matsushima Bay. The oyster hotpot, available only in winter, is highly acclaimed here, but the "oyster pudding" is equally famous. This
steamed pudding is made with Oku Matsushima oyster paste, fresh cream, and white wine, and has a refined, adult taste. Its creamy appearance is also cute. It's only 210 yen, so you'll want as many as you can.
