[Miyagi] Speaking of Matsushima gourmet food, it's all about oysters! Attractive restaurant where you can eat on a budget of 1,000 yen

Matsushima oysters are in season from October to March every year.
Because it contains the rich minerals carried by the river that flows into Matsushima Bay, it has a reputation for being plump yet firm and highly nutritious. Matsushima, one of Miyagi Prefecture's leading tourist destinations, is lined with restaurants where you can enjoy delicious oysters.
I'm really curious about how it will be eaten!

Matsushima Fish Market “Matsushima Kaki Burger”

The Matsushima Fish Market, where you can find fresh seafood and delicacies sent directly from the market, also has restaurants.
The specialty here is the ``Matsushima Kaki Burger,'' which is sandwiched between Matsushima oysters and croquettes with béchamel sauce.
You are sure to enjoy the crispy cream croquettes. They are particular about the buns, and they use rice flour from Miyagi Prefecture.
Despite the large portion, the reasonable price of 350 yen is great.

Pensee Matsushima store “Oyster curry bread”

For those who want to casually enjoy oysters while walking, we recommend Pensee Matsushima branch, located on the first floor of Matsushima Tamatehakokan. Here, you can eat ``Oyster Curry Bread'' containing a whole oyster from Sanriku. There are other stores, but this is the only place where you can eat "oyster curry bread"!
You can easily enjoy oysters for 300 yen, so there is often a line.
Curry and oysters go surprisingly well together, and you'll finish the whole thing in no time.
Sendai's specialty, Zunda melon bread with Zunda bean paste, is also popular.

South room “Raw oysters”

"Minami Stable" near Godaido is a restaurant open from 9:00 to 15:00. It used to be an eel restaurant, so you can now order unagi.
The popular menu item here is the ``raw oyster'', which contains four raw oysters in their shells. You'll be enchanted by the large oysters. Enjoy with ponzu sauce or cocktail sauce depending on your preference.
You can order them all year round, but in the winter we serve Matsushima oysters.
Raw oysters cost 1,000 yen for 4 pieces, but you can also get 3 pieces for 750 yen.

Zainya “Oyster Pudding”

Now that you're full, how about some unique dessert?
The restaurant ``Zojin-ya'' is located on the second floor of ``Matsushima Kamaboko Honpo Sohonten,'' where you can see Godaido Temple and Matsushima Bay. The winter-only oyster hot pot is popular here, but the ``oyster pudding'' is also equally famous. The pudding is made by steaming Oku-Matsushima oysters made into a paste and adding fresh cream and white wine, giving it an elegant adult taste. The cream color looks cute too. You can buy it for 210 yen, so you'll want as many as you want.
