If you're looking for a place in Fukushima where you can enjoy some of the most delicious fruit, head to Fruits Peaks Cafe. As a directly managed fruit specialty store founded in 1924, the quality of the fruit used in the cafe's menu is undeniably high.
The most famous item on the Fruit Peaks menu is their tarts, which are made with plenty of fruits carefully selected by a fruit master. In addition to the standard tarts, they also have seasonal fruit tarts on the menu, with over 10 varieties always available
In addition, a new, intriguing menu item has recently been introduced: the Fruit Detox Course. This course menu is available only at four of Fruit Peaks' 14 cafes, mainly in Fukushima Prefecture: the main store in Fukushima City, the Iwaki Izumi store in Iwaki City, the Aeon Mall Natori store (Miyagi), and the Tsukuba store (Ibaraki) (please check before visiting)
The catchphrase is "Get beautiful from the inside out!"
You just have to try it out.
There are two courses available. Both are packed with content from hors d'oeuvres to dessert
The Fruit Detox course menu states, "This course meal is for customers who value beauty and health, and uses plenty of fruits rich in vitamins and antioxidants to purify the body from the inside out." My expectations were rising
Well, the contents are,
- Today's 3 kinds of hors d'oeuvres
- Choose one of three types of pasta (Courses A and B each have three types of pasta)
- Fruit Peaks Special Salad
- Fruit Peaks special dessert (Course B is extra filling)
- Choose from five types of orchard tea, iced orchard tea, black tea, coffee, or fruit soda
- And all-you-can-drink detox water
In other words, the main dish for both Course A and Course B is pasta, and the prices, including tax, are 1,890 yen for Course A and 2,090 yen for Course B.
The price difference seems to depend largely on the type of pasta. For example, in Course B you can choose pasta made with melon, but this is a matter of personal preference, so it's best to choose the course that includes the pasta you want to try.
By the way, pasta alone would cost over 1,000 yen, so this course is very good value.
Each dish was so vibrant that cheers were heard. The portions were surprisingly generous!
This time, three women enjoyed Course A at Fruit Peaks Iwaki Izumi branch.
I would like to share the details of the meal.
Hors d'oeuvres

A platter of three small hors d'oeuvres
The watermelon and prosciutto combination has a refreshing, summery taste compared to the classic melon and prosciutto combination. The glass container contains finely chopped fruits and vegetables tossed in a dressing. It also contains fresh blueberries. The large grape and cream cheese canapés look unassuming, but everyone agreed, "This is delicious!" Grapes and cheese go so well together
pasta
Since there were three of us, we each ordered one pasta dish from course A
○ Chilled watermelon and tomato capellini

In addition to the freshness of the watermelon, the shredded myoga added an accent that gave it a very refreshing taste
Warm fruit pasta

This pasta is unique to Fruit Peaks. It's made with so much fruit, including watermelon, kiwi, apple, orange, and grapefruit, that you can barely see the pasta. It pairs surprisingly well with the hot oil sauce
○Neapolitan

The rich and sweet tomato sauce clings to the pasta, and the bacon makes it very satisfying
salad

This salad is truly Fruit Peaks! You'll be amazed at how vividly each fruit tastes. The not-too-oily dressing brings out the flavor of the fruit, making it so delicious you'll find yourself wanting more
Dessert

A Japanese-style fruit parfait. The fruit is also rich in flavor, and is not overpowered by the accompanying cream and bean paste. This is a true fruit parfait. You can try it as is first, and then add maple syrup halfway through to enjoy a different flavor
drink

The iced tea and fruit soda are delicious, but if it's your first time, we recommend the "Orchard Tea." Fruits such as apples and oranges are placed in a glass pot, and their aroma and subtle sweetness blend into the tea. You can also eat the fruit after drinking the tea
Detox Water

Don't forget this! It's fruit soaked in clean water, and is said to promote the elimination of waste products from the body. Two flavors were available on the day
It was very refreshing and easy to drink, so everyone had refills several times
Although it was a course meal, I thought it might be too light as it was mainly fruit and vegetables, but it was actually surprisingly filling.
When we sat down, we said, "Since we've come all the way to Fruit Peaks, let's add a tart later!", but as we savored the dessert, we agreed, "Let's save the tart for next time." Wow, we were very satisfied.
Fruit tarts and seasonal fruits are a must-try
Although I was very satisfied with the fruit detox course, it was impossible to pass up the rows of fruit tarts lined up in the refrigerated case. Take-out may be a must.
By the way, some varieties may sell out on holidays, so it's a good idea to order take-out before you eat. It's
also fun to choose souvenirs in the attached fruit shop, consulting with the fruit expert staff.
Check the menu before you go. We recommend making a reservation if possible
Fruit Peaks Cafe is a place where you can enjoy the deliciousness and joy of fruit, but the menu varies slightly from store to store, so be sure to check the website before heading out.
If you want to enjoy the fruit detox course, we recommend making a reservation on a weekday if possible.
