[Aomori/Iwate] Sanriku International Art Festival 2024 | An event bringing together the local performing arts of the Sanriku region will be held again this year!

The Sanriku International Art Festival aims to realize a "creative revitalization" through exchanges with performing arts and contemporary artists from around the world, mainly from Asia, while conveying the charm of Sanriku, a treasure trove of performing arts, both domestically and internationally. This is an art festival that was born in 2014 based on this idea.

This year, which marks the 10th anniversary since its establishment, a special website has been released based on the concept of "Otozure" Events that bring together local performing arts from the Sanriku region will be held in both Aomori and Iwate prefectures.

Sanriku Otsuchi Future Performing Arts Festival focuses on young successors of the performing arts who practice every day, and holds exchange meetings and presents performances .

Six entertainment groups from Iwate Prefecture will perform, and it will be held in Otsuchi Town, Iwate Prefecture.

[October 11th to 13th | Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture] Sanriku Performing Arts Discovery Summit

A total of 14 groups, including 13 performing arts groups from Aomori and Iwate prefectures and a lion dance group invited from Taiwan, ``Honbuchiryo Choxing Palace Golden Lion Jin, Annan Ward, Tainan City,'' gathered together to perform in outdoor spaces and cultural facilities. Sanriku Performing Arts Discovery Summit where dance performances will be performed .

In addition, the event will be held as a city-hopping event with multiple programs held throughout Hachinohe City, including exhibitions of Hachinohe culture and art workshops led by Sunfest Ambassadors.
