[Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture] What is Lucky Park, located in Kaiseiyama Park, a famous cherry blossom spot?

Kaiseiyama Park is one of the prefecture's most famous cherry blossom viewing spots, with approximately 1,300 cherry trees to enjoy

In March 2022, "Lucky Park in Koriyama," a park based on the Fukushima support Pokémon "Lucky," opened within Kaiseiyama Park, a famous cherry blossom viewing spot!

During the cherry blossom season, you can enjoy the contrast between the pink Lucky and the cherry blossoms at Lucky Park

This time, I'd like to share with you my experience visiting the newly opened Lucky Park

Support Fukushima! Support Pokémon "Lucky"

Fukushima Prefecture and The Pokémon Company signed a cooperation agreement in February 2019 regarding the recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake

Lucky, with his adorable pink, round silhouette and said to bring happiness, has been appointed the Fukushima Support Pokémon, and various collaborative events and products are being developed

As part of this, park playground equipment designed around the Fukushima support Pokémon "Lucky" has been donated to Koriyama City, Namie Town, Yanaizu Town, and Showa Village

Lucky is a Pokémon that brings happiness (happiness). Apparently, it was chosen as the Fukushima support Pokémon because it has something in common with the "happiness" in Fukushima!

Additionally, the eggs in Lucky's belly are packed with nutrients, making him the perfect Pokémon to support Fukushima Prefecture, which brings happiness to people both within and outside the prefecture through delicious, nutritious agricultural products

Lucky's Features

Type: Normal

Category: Egg Pokémon

Ability: Natural Healing / Heavenly Blessing

Height: 1.1 m

Weight: 34.6 kg

Succubus eggs are delicious and nutritious. Walk carefully so as not to break the egg you are holding. This Pokémon is said to bring happiness, and since there are only a few of them, anyone who finds one is lucky. It evolves from Pluto to Succubus, and from Succubus to Chansey

From Pokémon Local Acts

Lucky is helping to liven up Fukushima by selling collaborative products made with Fukushima peaches and eggs, and by installing manhole covers with Pokémon designs called "Pokéfuta" all over the prefecture!

A giant lucky charm appears in Kaiseiyama Park!

Kaiseiyama Park consists of a park area centered around Lake Isuzu on the west side and sports facilities on the east side. It is easily accessible, about a 10-minute drive from Koriyama Station, and is a popular oasis for local residents

Lucky Park is adjacent to the children's playground facing Lake Isuzu within the park area.
I visited in April during the cherry blossom season, and the park was bustling with many families and locals enjoying the blossoms.

Huge lucky charms are very popular with children!

The giant Lucky is an impressive 6 meters tall! Its sheer size is overwhelming when you get closer!
The back of Lucky is designed for climbing, and it features a slide and sound-making mechanisms.

There are lots of pink Pokemon in the park

There's also a sandbox and a small slide, so even young children can play safely.

If you get tired, you can take a break on the Pikachu bench!

Poke lids are also available!

Following on from Lucky Park, Pokefuta manhole covers featuring Pokémon were installed along the paths inside Kaiseiyama Park's outdoor music hall in August 2022

Kaiseiyama Park Outdoor Music Hall is located next to Lucky Park, so if you visit the park, be sure to look for Poke Lids!

Kaiseiyama Park, a symbol of Asaka development

Kaiseiyama Park is centered around Lake Isuzu, which was created as an irrigation pond at the beginning of the Meiji era, and is home to a stadium, athletics field, and other facilities. It is a popular symbolic park for the people of Koriyama

It is one of the prefecture's most famous cherry blossom viewing spots, with 1,300 cherry trees in bloom in spring, and the adjacent Kaisei Daijingu Shrine holds the Kaiseiyama Park Flower Festival every year

The 2023 "Sakura Festival" is scheduled to run from March 28th to April 22nd.
With food stalls and illuminations, you can enjoy cherry blossom viewing both day and night, so why not take a trip during the cherry blossom season?

Let's go to Kaiseiyama Park Lucky Park

In addition to Lucky, a large group of pink Pokémon were gathered at Lucky Park in Kaiseiyama Park

Near Lucky Park, there is a children's play area with lots of play equipment and a large model locomotive, making it the perfect spot for children to play

Of course, even as an adult, I had a lot of fun finding lots of Pokemon and strolling around the spacious park. It's also fun to look for Pokemon and Poke Lids while walking around the park!

Lucky is the Pokémon that brings happiness. Why not visit Lucky Park and recharge your happiness power?
