[Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture] What is the lucky park that was built in Kaiseiyama Park, a famous spot for cherry blossoms?

Kaiseiyama Park is one of the prefecture's most famous cherry blossom viewing spots, where you can enjoy around 1,300 cherry blossom trees.

In March 2020, "Lucky Park in Kooriyamashi", a park with the motif of the Fukushima support Pokemon "Lucky", opened in Kaiseiyama Park, a famous spot for cherry blossoms!

During the cherry blossom season, you can enjoy the contrast between the pink Lucky and the cherry blossoms at Lucky Park.

This time I would like to introduce you to the newly opened Lucky Park.

Support Fukushima! Support Pokemon “Lucky”

In February 2019, Fukushima Prefecture and the Pokémon Company entered into a partnership agreement for recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake.

Lucky, who has an adorable pink round silhouette and is said to ``bring happiness,'' has been appointed as the ``Fukushima Support Pokémon,'' and various collaborative events and products are being developed.

As part of this effort, park playground equipment with the concept design of Fukushima's support Pokemon "Lucky" has been donated to Koriyama City, Namie Town, Yanaizu Town, and Showa Village.

Lucky is a Pokémon that brings happiness. It has been chosen as the Fukushima Support Pokémon because it has something in common with Fukushima's "Fuku"!

Also, the eggs in Lucky's stomach are full of nutrients. It is the perfect Pokémon to support Fukushima Prefecture, bringing happiness both inside and outside the prefecture through delicious and nutritious agricultural products.

Lucky characteristics

Type: Normal

Lucky eggs are delicious and packed with nutrients. Walk carefully so as not to break the eggs you are holding. It is a Pokemon that is said to bring happiness, and those who find it are lucky as it is rare. Evolves from Pimpuku to Lucky, and from Lucky to Hapinus.

From Pokemon Local Acts

They are promoting Fukushima prefecture by selling collaboration products made with Lucky and Fukushima peaches and eggs, and by installing "Poké Lid" manhole covers with Pokémon designs all over the prefecture!

Giant Lucky appears at Kaiseiyama Park!

Kaiseiyama Park consists of a park area centered around Lake Isuzu on the west side and sports facilities on the east side. It is easily accessible, approximately 10 minutes by car from Koriyama Station, and is popular as an oasis for citizens.

Lucky Park is adjacent to the children's plaza facing Lake Isuzu in the park section.
I visited during the cherry blossom season in April, and the park was crowded with many parents and children as well as locals enjoying cherry blossom viewing.

Very popular with children! huge lucky

The size of the giant lucky is about 6 meters!
When you get close to it, you will be overwhelmed by its impressive size! The back side of Lucky is designed to be climbed like this, and there are slides and devices that make noise.
Giant Lucky is very popular with children! There was a line for the slide.

There are many pink Pokemon in the park.

Collaboration between Chaerim and Sakura

In addition to the giant lucky complex play equipment

  • Chaerim and Lucky's swing
  • Pi and Pupurin's swing play equipment
  • Beroringa slide
  • Pinpuku Sunaba
  • lucky swing play equipment
  • pikachu bench

There were toys like this.

Not only children but also adults are obsessed with finding Pokemon!
There is also a sandbox and a small slide, so even small children can play safely.

If you're tired, you can take a break on Pikachu's bench!

Poke lids are also available!

Following "Lucky Park," a manhole cover with Pokemon drawn on it, "Poke Lid," was installed on the path inside Kaiseiyama Park Outdoor Music Hall in August 2020.

Kaiseiyama Park Outdoor Concert Hall is near Lucky Park, so be sure to look for Poke Lid when you visit the park!

Kaiseiyama Park, the symbol of Asaka development

Kaiseiyama Park is centered around Lake Isuzu, which was created as an irrigation pond at the beginning of the Meiji period, and is also home to a stadium, track and field stadium, and is loved as a symbolic park by the citizens of Koriyama.

It is one of the prefecture's most famous cherry blossom viewing spots, with 1,300 cherry blossom trees blooming in the spring, and the Kaiseizan Park Flower Festival is held every year at the adjacent Kaisei Daijingu Shrine.

The 2023 Sakura Festival is scheduled for March 28th to April 22nd.
You can enjoy cherry blossom viewing both day and night with stalls and illuminations, so why not go out during the cherry blossom viewing season?

Let's go to Kaiseiyama Park Lucky Park

In addition to Lucky, there was a large gathering of pink Pokemon at Lucky Park in Kaiseiyama Park.

Near Lucky Park, there is a children's play area with lots of play equipment and a large model of a locomotive, so it's a perfect spot for children to play.

Of course, even as an adult, I found lots of Pokemon and had a lot of fun walking around the spacious park. It's also nice to walk around the park and look for Pokemon and Pokemon lids!

Lucky is a ``Pokémon that brings happiness.'' Why not go to Lucky Park and recharge your happiness power?
