"Golden Country, Iwate" Food Show in Metaverse

A new initiative from Iwate Prefecture! A food show from the "Golden Land of Iwate" in the Metaverse!

On December 12, 2023, the Iwate Prefectural Government will host a new food show showcasing local ingredients. The venue will be a metaverse space !

What is the "Golden Country Iwate" Food Show in Metaverse?

The "Golden Country Iwate" Food Show in Metaverse is a virtual space on the Internet (the Metaverse).

In other words, it is a new type of food show that can be participated in from home, work, or anywhere as long as you have a PC or smartphone.

What is the Metaverse?

"Metaverse" has been appearing more and more in the news and other media recently . Many well-known companies, including KDDI, Nissan, Square Enix, and Avex Group, have entered the market and announced their business development.

The metaverse is a 3DCG virtual space created on the internet, and is a portmanteau of "meta" (transcendent, higher) and "universe" (world, universe)

The term "metaverse" itself is quite broad and has many different interpretations, so it's difficult to define in general terms, but to put it simply, this event involves participating in an online game-like space with your own character (avatar).The other characters (avatars) in that space also have people inside them, just like you, and you can have a variety of experiences through your character (avatar), such as interacting freely and participating in talk session events .

The menu will include 11 dishes (planned) such as cod brandade, Miyako trout salmon pie, roasted Otsuchi venison with consommé, Iwate shorthorn beef lasagna, beetroot tiramisu, burdock root chocolate terrine, and goat milk salt bread. A total of more than 25 ingredients from Iwate Prefecture will be used!

The "Iwate Food Box" is produced by Chef Morohoshi, executive chef of Ginza Cruise . On the day, there will also be a talk session between Chef Morohoshi and producers from the prefecture.
