Tokyo's urban area is filled with skyscrapers and a futuristic landscape. When you're constantly looking at such scenery, don't you sometimes miss the beauty of nature? This time, we'll introduce some recommended gardens and parks you can enjoy in Tokyo
Hamarikyu Gardens (Chuo Ward)
https://www.instagram.com/p/BR_86FLj2wb/Our first stop is Hama-Rikyu Gardens, a five-minute walk from Shiodome Station on the Toei Oedo Line and Yurikamome Line. The garden's pond is filled with seawater, giving it the unusual feature of changing its scenery with the ebb and flow of the tide. The garden also boasts a peony garden and flower fields filled with seasonal flowers, as well as rows of cherry blossom trees planted with a variety of varieties that can be enjoyed over a long period of time. There's also a rest area where you can enjoy matcha tea while admiring the scenery, so it's definitely worth stopping by

Former Furukawa Gardens (Kita Ward)
Located a seven-minute walk from Kaminakazato Station on the Keihin-Tohoku Line, the Kyu-Furukawa Gardens offers a variety of seasonal flowers, including roses, weeping cherry blossoms, and daffodils. The flower fields aren't the only highlight of this garden. Don't miss the Western-style building designed by Josiah Conder, who also designed some of Japan's most famous modern architecture, such as the Rokumeikan. The contrast between the beautiful flowers and the elegant Western-style building is well worth a visit

Todoroki Valley Park (Setagaya Ward)
Todoroki Valley Park, a 3-minute walk from Todoroki Station on the Tokyu Oimachi Line, is a place where you can enjoy the feeling of being on a picnic in the suburbs, even while in the city. Though it's located near a residential area, the park is lined with lush trees along the river, allowing you to enjoy the authentic valley scenery. Mizumoto Park (Katsushika Ward)
The last park we'll introduce is Mizumoto Park, the largest Suigo park in Tokyo's 23 wards. The highlights of this park are the approximately 1.2km long row of poplar trees and the 1,800 metasequoia trees in the forest. Because it is larger than other parks, you can enjoy the vast forest. Other facilities include a stream plaza where you can enjoy playing in the water in the summer, a bird sanctuary with a waterside environment for birds, and a barbecue area where you can enjoy time with friends and family in the great outdoors
