The Hideyo Noguchi Memorial Hall was built to commemorate his achievements
The permanent exhibitions cover Hideyo's life from birth to death, from his birthplace area, which recreates his birthplace in Inawashiro, to his Aizu period, which inspired him to pursue a career in medicine, to his Tokyo period, which showcases his life in Tokyo after obtaining his medical license, as well as his time abroad in the United States and Denmark, where he devoted himself to medical research, and his time in Central and South America and Africa, where he continued his research on yellow fever until his death

This facility exhibits and sells approximately 25,000 glass products collected from all over the world

Kawakyo Ramen Hall
This facility was built to introduce Kitakata ramen, with the philosophy of "offering delicious Kitakata ramen and making customers happy."
The souvenir shop on the first floor offers a wide variety of local products from Fukushima and Aizu, as well as ramen-related goods.
The workshop where you can experience making your own hand-rolled ramen is also very popular.
However, the place you should really pay attention to is the restaurant on the second floor.
They offer seven types of Kitakata ramen and 30 kinds of side dishes, all in a buffet style!

Aquamarine Inawashiro Kingfisher Aquarium
This facility was built based on the idea of creating a model ecosystem for the various creatures that live in Inawashiro.
It's unique in that, despite being an aquarium, it's named after the kingfisher bird.

The permanent exhibition displays rare creatures that live in Fukushima, salmon and trout that migrate to the Japanese archipelago, and around 100 species of aquatic life other than fish, such as insects and amphibians, allowing you to observe creatures that you cannot see at ordinary aquariums
And the main attraction of this Kingfisher Aquarium is the otter enclosure!
Here, you can see a family of Eurasian otters playing happily up close!

Of particular note is the "Eurasian Otter Feeding Time" which is held twice a day, where you can see the animals being fed
You'll get to see a surprising side of them that you wouldn't expect from their cute appearance!

When you think of Lake Inawashiro, you think of swans!
Shidahama is an excellent spot to see swans that have migrated to Inawashiro up close!

At the nearby Lakeside Iwamitsu, you can get free food for the swans, so you can also enjoy feeding them
Additionally, Shidahama is a great spot to view the magnificent scenery of Inawashiro, so it's recommended even in seasons when there are no swans!
