In 2010, they started cultivating sunflowers in order to prevent the Gassan Plateau, which was once a meadow, from turning back into a field of pampas grass.

summary

Even if you are not a movie fan, you may have heard of the drama set in Yamagata, ``Oshin'', and the live-action version of the popular manga ``Rurouni Kenshin''. I hear that there are many people who come here on pilgrimage to the sacred place because they can see the set.

The entire surrounding area, including the theme park, is surrounded by magnificent nature. Gaze at the sunflowers and enjoy the sunset, then stretch your legs a little and relax in the hot springs.

It might be a good idea to spend a relaxing day around Mt. Gassan, a treasure trove of nature.
