The origin of the Toyocaka
comes from the literal meaning of "rich sake cup" and also the Tsugaru folk song "Hohai Bushi."
Tsugaru Tamenobu, the first lord of the Tsugaru domain, to boost morale in battle. The song was named "Toyosakabe," which has the same pronunciation as the Hohai song, to reflect the humor and triumph of the song.

Toyosakai is a sake that is carefully crafted using underground water from the Iwaki and Akakura mountain ranges and high-quality sake rice grown under contract
In addition to Toyosakaimai, the brewery also uses other high-quality sake rice varieties such as "Hanaomoi" and "Hanafubuki," which are representative varieties of sake rice from Aomori, as well as "Yamada Nishiki" and "Kame no O." All of the sake rice is polished in-house by the brewery

With the renewal of the store, the new store now offers paid tastings of Toyocai. In the tasting corner, you can compare up to eight different types of Toyocai

You buy a card, load it with money, and it pours from a dedicated server
Simply select the desired amount and press the button to have it automatically poured into the glass. You can choose from 30ml, 60ml, or 90ml

You can also purchase a small bottle for 100 yen to take home a sample of the sake. In this case, you can pour your desired amount directly into the bottle using a dedicated server. This is perfect for those who have driven or who want to try a small amount at home or at their accommodation
In the tasting corner, you can sample expensive sake such as Kogin sake, as well as "Houhai Brewery Limited Edition" sake, which is only sold at the brewery. Isn't this a truly luxurious experience?

Miura Sake Brewery is located in the suburbs, a little ways from the center of Hirosaki City. If you want to sample their sake at the direct sales store, we recommend taking a bus or taxi from Hirosaki Station

By bus

If you take the bus, it will take about 30 minutes, including walking
First, take the Konan bus from bus stop number 7 in front of Hirosaki Station, which passes through Hamanomachi 2-chome
After about a 15-minute bus ride, you will see the "Hamanomachi 2-chome" bus stop. Get off and walk straight in the direction of Mt. Iwaki for about 15 minutes to arrive
By taxi
