Ganzuki

Ganzuki is a farm-fresh sweet that looks like a chocolate brownie, and is also written as Ganzuki.
It is a local dish that tastes like fluffy sugar steamed bread, but because it contains soy sauce, it has a Japanese-style flavor.
Its unique name is said to come from the sesame seeds scattered on the round dough to resemble the moon and geese. It is spread mainly in northern Miyagi Prefecture and as far north as Iwate Prefecture, so you can eat it directly from the farm in each region.

Ganzuki

The ganzuki sold at the direct-from-the-farm farm ``Golden no Sato'' attached to the hot spring facility ``Wakuya Tenpyo-yu'' is a rare type that is densely packed rather than fluffy.
The texture is just like gateau chocolate.
Whether you are trying Ganzuki for the first time or have eaten it many times, why not give it a try?
