[Miyagi] The rich tonkotsu soy sauce is addictive! Ramen Do Sendai

Ramen Do Sendakko, affectionately known as "Sendakko Ramen," is a ramen chain with over 10 stores mainly in Sendai.
Founded in 1976, this ramen boasts a rich tonkotsu-based soy sauce soup that will have you hooked once you try it!
I even set aside one day a month for Sendakko Ramen!
My top recommendation
is the "Nori Ramen," a shocking ramen topped with so much roasted nori seaweed that you can't even see the noodles!

So, let's introduce some recommended stores of "Ramen Do Sendaikko" by a Sendai resident who loves Sendai!

Sendai Ramen is proud of its soup!

Sendai ramen has a delicious tonkotsu soy sauce flavor.
The secret to its deliciousness lies in the abundance of ingredients. The soup is
made by using five times more pork bones than usual and simmering it for more than two days with chicken bones, kelp, vegetables, etc., resulting in a flavor that can be described as a new type of tonkotsu soup that is completely different from "Hakata tonkotsu."

The base flavor is the same, but the amount of ingredients varies slightly from shop to shop, so some Sendai ramen enthusiasts enjoy comparing the different flavors
When I researched the differences in taste while writing this article, I came across a shocking urban legend

"Ramen Do Sendai has miso and salt flavors."

The taste is completely different from the base!
However, there is no mention of this on the menu at my favorite restaurant.
I decided to ask the staff.

Apparently, it's only available at the Aiko store, so
I went to check it out right away.

Ramen Do Sendai Aiko store

The area around JR Rikuzen-Ochiai Station is a highly competitive ramen spot, even though it is in the suburbs of Sendai
Ramen Do Sendai Kko Aiko store is located in an area where many famous restaurants, including Mizusawaya, are competing for positions everywhere, but even so, the parking lot is always full every day
Looking at the menu, I found miso and salt flavors
The miso flavor is 860 yen and the salt flavor is 760 yen
So this time I decided to order the miso flavor

"Would you like thick noodles or thin noodles?"

This is also something I've never been asked before.
In fact, at the Aiko, Kakyoin, and Rifu branches, you can choose between thick and thin noodles.
So, when I asked the staff which one they recommended, they laughed and said, "Is it okay if I go with my preference?" and replied, "Thick noodles."
The friendly staff are also one of the charms of the Aiko branch.

When you try it, you'll be surprised at how well the tonkotsu and miso flavors, unique to Sendai people, match perfectly
Tonkotsu and miso
Each has its own strengths, but they don't cancel each other out, creating an exquisite balance
The tonkotsu soy sauce is delicious, but this one is also incredibly tasty!

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to eat the salty version due to my stomach size, but the rich flavor of Sendai and the light saltiness are intertwined to create an exquisite dish that leaves you feeling refreshed after a meal

If you want to enjoy a different taste of Ramen Do Sendaikko, it might be a good idea to go to the outskirts of Sendai!
