Official name: Hanamaki Airport (nickname: Iwate Hanamaki Airport) is a locally managed airport that began airport development work in 1961 (Showa 36), and began operation on February 15, 1964 (Showa 39) with a runway length of 1,200m

It is the only airport in Iwate Prefecture and serves as the gateway to Iwate's skies
