In Odate City, there is a community revitalization cooperation team consisting of two Akita dogs and two women. As you walk around town, you may come across the Regional Revitalization Cooperation Team.

This community revitalization cooperation team calls itself the Akita Inu Fureai Team, and their job is to promote the charm of the Akita dog. If you find one, be sure to come in contact with an Akita dog and experience its charm.

On August 10, 2017, the Akita Inu Fureai Dokoro opened on the grounds of JR Odate Station. This is the base of operations for the aforementioned Akita Inu Fureai Team.

Even if you don't come across the Fureai-tai in town, if you go here directly, you are sure to meet one of the two Akita dogs named Asuka and Ako.

Akita dog hall

The Akita Inu Hall houses the offices and meeting rooms of the Akita Inu Preservation Society. There is also a museum room with Akita dog materials and dioramas. It is truly the home of the Akita dog. It can be accessed in about 8 minutes by taxi from Odate Station.

You can see Akita Inu dogs at the kennel from late April to mid-November. It is also famous for having four Akita dogs in the office. There are Akita dogs with white hair, tiger hair, and red hair. One of the most popular is the white-haired receptionist, Yuki-chan. The way she greets visitors with her feet on the counter has become a hot topic.

When actress Nozomi Sasaki visited, Yuki-chan also welcomed her in this way.
