A tragic love legend passed down from ancient times

Although it is a large and beautiful waterfall, there is actually ``tragic love legend'' that has been passed down around this waterfall for a long time.

A long time ago, a girl named Yasu fell in love with a man named Kutaro who worked at a gold mine. However, at that time, it was forbidden for a man and a woman to be in love in the mountains, so Yasu and Kutaro were not able to find happiness easily.

One day, Kutaro left the village, telling his friends on the same mountain, ``Tell Yasu that I'll definitely come pick you up later.''

The friends were unable to give Yasu a message for fear that they would be punished if they cooperated with Kutaro.

Yasu, who believed in Kutaro and continued to wait, was told by one of his friends, ``Kutaro was arrested for a crime, so you should forget about it,'' and Yasu, overcome with sadness, threw himself into the waterfall.

That is this waterfall, and it is called "Yasu Falls"

Many young people visit this place as it is one of the love spots.

The waterfall can only be seen from summer to autumn.

This waterfall can only be seen during the summer and fall, and is closed during the winter and spring.

Also, when you go to this waterfall, you have to go on foot as cars are not allowed. Depending on the time of year, there may be a lot of flies and wasps, so be careful.

The surrounding area is also a habitat for Asiatic black bears , so you must take precautions against bears before going to Yasu-no-taki.
