The main venue for Yamagata Sound and Light Fantasia is Mogami River Furusato Park in Sagae City, Yamagata Prefecture.
It is about 5 minutes from Sagae Smart IC on the Yamagata Expressway, or about 5 minutes by taxi after getting off at JR Sagae Station by public transportation.

The theme is "Forest of Light"

This year is the second time Yamagata Sound and Light Fantasia has been held.
Even more powerful than the first event, approximately 150,000 lights will immerse the audience in a fantastical space.

Trees of light line the venue, making you feel like you've wandered into a forest of lights.

The 7.5m tall main tree stands out in the center of the venue. Immediately behind it is an even taller 10m high tower.

A high platform was set up in front of the main tree.

It's fun to look out over the entire Hikari no Mori from a slightly elevated place as the atmosphere changes.

Above all, the sound and light illumination show is a must-see, on a scale rarely seen in Tohoku.
The team behind Caretta Illumination, which is held at Caretta Shiodome (Minato-ku, Tokyo), which is famous for its spectacular illuminations every year, is in charge of the production, and two shows are held every 15 minutes.

“Yamagata Sound and Light Fantasia” will be held every day until February 12, 2023 (Sunday).
