Kami Town, Yakurai Garden
is located in Kami Town, in the northern part of Miyagi Prefecture.
Kami Town is famous as a rice-producing area within Miyagi Prefecture. It's
a 40-minute drive from the nearest Furukawa Station.
After passing through a rural area with sprawling rice paddies and heading towards Mt. Yakurai, you'll reach the entrance to Yakurai Resort.
The garden, boasting a total area of 150,000 square meters, cultivates approximately 400 different types of plants. In spring, tulips are in full bloom; in summer, sunflowers and lavender; and in autumn, the particularly vibrant salvia and cosmos are at their best. There are also herb gardens and rose gardens, delighting the eyes and noses of visitors.
The Easter events in May and June, and the time in October when the salvias are in full bloom, are particularly popular. The
endless red carpet of flowers is truly breathtaking.
On sunny days, the rural landscape at the foot of the mountain stretches out below, making the scenery even more beautiful.
And for a break during your stroll, soft-serve ice cream is a popular choice!
Its rich flavor is a big hit! It tastes even better when you eat it outside!
In addition, there are hot springs, restaurants, and a souvenir center nearby where you can buy local vegetables and souvenirs.
