Why not go and see this scenery that can only be enjoyed in the summer?
Sanbongi, Osaki city, is located in the north of Miyagi prefecture.
Sanbongi's Sunflower Hill is a famous sunflower field in the prefecture.
It is the second largest in Japan!
The best time to see the sunflowers is in August. Approximately 420,000 sunflowers bloom in the 6-hectare field. It's
so vast that it almost looks like a maze!
There are well-maintained walking trails between the sunflowers, which have grown to about the height of a person.
Looking down from the hill, the sunflower field looks like a carpet of yellow.
If you're tired from walking, how about some cold ice cream?
"Himawari Aisu-chan" contains sunflower seeds
and is a popular ice cream with an irresistible fragrant texture.
Shaved ice and light meals are also sold at the rest area.

Kami Town, Yakurai Garden
Kami Town is located in the north of Miyagi Prefecture.
Yakurai Garden is located in Kami Town, which is famous for its rice production even within Miyagi. It is
a 40-minute drive from the nearest station, Furukawa Station.
Going through the rural area with its rice fields and heading towards Mt. Yakurai, you will reach the entrance to Yakurai Resort.
The garden boasts a total area of 150,000 square meters and is home to approximately 400 different types of plants. Tulips are in season in the spring, sunflowers and lavender in the summer, and the even more gorgeous salvia and cosmos in the fall. The scenery of seasonal flowers in full bloom throughout the seasons is overwhelming.
There is also a herb garden and a rose garden, which are a feast for the eyes and noses of walkers.
The Easter events in May and June and the time in October when the salvia flowers are in full bloom are especially popular. The
endless red carpet is a spectacular sight.
On a clear day, the countryside at the foot of the mountain spreads out below you, making the scenery even more beautiful.
Soft-serve ice cream is also popular as a break from your stroll!
Its rich flavor is incredibly popular! Eating it outside makes it even more delicious!
There are also hot springs, restaurants, and a souvenir center in the area where you can buy local vegetables and souvenirs.
The cheap, fresh vegetables and gelato made with local ingredients are popular,
so be sure to stop by.
