The expansive Michinoku Lakeside Park
is the only national park in Tohoku.
Many events, including live music and parent-child events, are held here throughout the year.
The park's vast 647-hectare grounds are also filled with flowers in full bloom throughout the year, delighting visitors.

Sanbongi, Osaki city, is located in the north of Miyagi prefecture.
Sanbongi's Sunflower Hill is a famous sunflower field in the prefecture.
It is the second largest in Japan!

The best time to see the sunflowers is in August. Approximately 420,000 sunflowers bloom in the 6-hectare field. It's
so vast that it almost looks like a maze!

Kami Town, Yakurai Garden

Kami Town is located in the north of Miyagi Prefecture.
Yakurai Garden is located in Kami Town, which is famous for its rice production even within Miyagi. It is
a 40-minute drive from the nearest station, Furukawa Station.
Going through the rural area with its rice fields and heading towards Mt. Yakurai, you will reach the entrance to Yakurai Resort.

The garden boasts a total area of ​​150,000 square meters and is home to approximately 400 different types of plants. Tulips are in season in the spring, sunflowers and lavender in the summer, and the even more gorgeous salvia and cosmos in the fall.
