Dress-up dolls are something that every girl has played with at least once. Among these dolls, the most popular and well-known is "Licca-chan." The place that could be called the home base of Licca-chan dolls is located in Ono Town, Fukushima Prefecture. It's called "Licca-chan Castle." Today, we'll be introducing Licca-chan Castle

Access to Licca-chan Castle

By car, it takes about 5 minutes to get there after getting off the Ban'etsu Expressway at Ono IC. From Fukushima city, it takes about an hour. This castle, nestled in the mountains, stands out from the surrounding townscape. It's a fairytale-like castle with a blue roof, and the closer you get, the more excited you get. Parking is free. If you look at the license plates of the parked cars, you'll see that people have come here from all over the country

Licca-chan Castle houses a museum and a factory

We pass through a gate marked "Licca Castle." Licca-chan Castle opened in 1993 and has a surprisingly long history. It features a museum that displays previously released Licca-chan dolls, as well as a factory where you can see the manufacturing process

There is a reception desk outside where you can purchase your admission ticket (800 yen for high school students and above, 600 yen for 2 years old and above to junior high school students). Once inside, you will see the apple garden on your right, a cafe on your left, and the castle towering in front of you, which houses the museum and other facilities

A life-size Licca-chan doll welcomes you

Once you enter the castle, you'll see a carpet on the floor with the words "Welcome! Licca Castle!" written on it. In front of you is a life-size Licca-chan doll called "Welcome Licca-chan." This Licca-chan doll actually speaks to welcome you. Many people take photos here

Become Licca-chan with this dress-up outfit!

Next to the life-size Licca-chan doll is a dress for women only (free to rent, no time limit). This dress is designed to be worn over your current clothes. Sizes range from 80cm to 160cm. Both adults and children can feel like Licca-chan in this dress

Learn about the first to fourth generations of Licca-chan

At the Licca-chan Museum on the second floor, you can see all of the Licca-chan dolls, from the first generation to the current fourth generation. An audio guide called "Licca-chan Navi" is available, so if you touch the heart mark on the display window, you can hear exclusive stories

There is also a "Licca-chan Quiz" available. Questions are also asked by touching the screen with a pen. You can learn more about Licca-chan by answering the questions
