[Fukushima] Why not refresh yourself at Mt. Adatara by gazing at the "real sky" and soaking in hot springs?

Mount Adatara is an active volcano located in central Fukushima Prefecture, standing 1,718 meters above sea level, and has been selected as one of the 100 famous mountains in Japan and the 100 famous mountains of Utsukushima.
Mount Adatara has appeared in various literary works since the time of the Manyoshu, but it is Takamura Kotaro's "Chieko Sho" that has made the mountain's name known to many people. One of the stories, "Adokenai Hanashi," depicts Kotaro's wife, Chieko, saying, "The blue sky that spreads above Mount Adatara is the 'real sky.'"

Mt. Adatara opened to the public on May 15th, 2017. We would like to introduce you to some ways to enjoy the mountain
The charm of Mt. Adatara becomes even more apparent once you climb it. You can even use the gondola lift halfway up the mountain!

Adatara's serene mountain form is soothing even when viewed from the base, but many people also visit for mountain skiing and mountain climbing. The best part is that you can take a gondola lift up to the 8th station (around 1,300m above sea level) of Mt. Yakushi, making it easy even for beginners to try mountain climbing
From June to July, azaleas, rhododendrons, and the delicate alpine plant rockfoil are at their best, so you can enjoy trekking while admiring the flowers

The hot springs at the Kuroganegoya mountain hut are also a major attraction of climbing Mt. Adatara. The acidic springs are rare nationwide, and are very popular as not only overnight guests but also casual visitors can drop in to bathe there. Unfortunately, damage was recently found in the bathtub, and the baths have been closed since June.

The same hot spring source as Kuroganegoya is also used to draw water to Dake Onsen at the foot of the mountain. What's more, the water is kneaded as it flows to Dake Onsen, so the ingredients remain intact and it feels great on the skin. So, if you visit Mt. Adatara, be sure to stop by Dake Onsen!
