The day the Koriyama air raid took place (Fukushima Prefecture)

On April 12, 1945, a formation of dozens of B-29 bombers attacked, causing damage to various munitions factories and the area around the nearby Koriyama Station of the Japanese National Railways. It is estimated that 460 people died in this air raid.

At the time, Koriyama City was a military city with many military facilities and numerous munitions factories, and as a result, it was targeted in air raids a total of four times: on April 12, July 29, August 9, and August 10, 1945
