The initiative began when the music video for Rain Tree's song"Typhoon Night"was filmed in the town. This led to the creation of a collaborative label for bottled water called "Kawamata Water" and the holding of live performances in the town, all aimed at promoting the charms of Kawamata Town and attracting visitors.

Rain Treeis a girl group produced by Yasushi Akimoto.

The music video for "Typhoon Night," a song in which all 16 members participated in singing for the first time, was filmed entirely in Kawamata Town. Filming locations included the former Iizaka Elementary School, the approach to Toenji Temple, and the Ojima Furusato Exchange Hall, and it was released on October 8, 2026

Kawamata Townis located in the northern part of the Abukuma Highlands and is known for its local specialties, such as the brand-name chicken "Kawamata Shamo" and "Kawamata Silk," which carries on a history of sericulture and silk weaving. However, it also faces challenges such as a declining birthrate, an aging population, and the exodus of young people.

This collaboration is part of a "Tap Water PR Project" aimed at conveying the safety and value of the town's tap water. With the cooperation of the Public-Private Partnership Promotion Organization, the project aims to showcase the town's scenery through music videos and to broaden public interest in local businesses and specialty products

To commemorate the release of the music video, an original water product called "Kawamata Water" was created. It is a bottled drinking water made from tap water from Kawamata Town, which is sourced from the Abukuma Mountains, and is being offered as a reward for participating in this crowdfunding campaign

The labels come in 16 different designs, each featuring one of the 16 members of Rain Tree, combined with Kawamata Town's mascot character, "Otehime-sama." You can choose from four different sets, A, B, C, and D, each featuring a different combination of members

  • Donation amount: 25,000 yen per box
  • Contents: 500ml x 24 bottles
  • Set contents: 6 bottles each of 4 different label designs per box
  • Set types: A, B, C, and D (4 types in total)

Instead of each box containing all 16 types of labels, they are packaged in sets of four. You can check which set contains the labels of your desired member at the application site

The donated funds will be used for various initiatives, including holding live concerts, promoting the attractions of Kawamata Town, and increasing the number of people who continue to be involved with the town. If the target amount is exceeded, the funds will be used for further promotion of tap water, as well as for the replacement and repair of water pipes
