The Fukushima Waraji Festival will be held for three days from August 4th (Friday) to August 6th (Sunday) this year! It is one of the six major festivals in Tohoku, and has been loved for many years as a festival for citizens to relax.It is special to the locals!

As in previous years, this year's event will be held from the first Friday to Sunday in August.

The main festival will be held on the 4th and 5th, and the main venue will be on National Route 13 (Shinbu Street), but on the 3rd day, August 6th, the large waraji will be dedicated to Haguro Shrine on Mt. Shinobu, so the venue will only be held on the 3rd day. becomes Haguro Shrine on Mt. Shinobu.

Fukushima Waraji Festival is an experiential festival!

You can enjoy the Fukushima Waraji Festival in addition to the waraji parade, dancing, and tug-of-war.

The main festival will be held in the evening, but from early in the day, you can experience making ``waraji'' and ``wara no wa'', which are essential for the waraji dance, without prior reservation.

You can experience making waraji. You can take the waraji you made home with you as a talisman.

You can experience making the "wara no wa" which is necessary when participating in the waraji dance. You can take home the straw you made.
